just won the rivals 5 star challenge for qbs. I would be more than ok with taking this kid. Plus it would be an in with IMG academy

FSU already has a quarterback commitment in their Class 2015 - De'andre Johnson, who committed to FSU last July. Starting his freshman year, De'andre is 34 - 4 for Class 7A First Coast(Jacksonville). Johnson and Francois, along with Barnett, Waller, and Stidham, will be at the Elite 11 competition in July. Would FSU take two quarterbacks in this class? Are additional offers a contingency plan?

I think they are recruiting Francois over Johnson. If they can get Francois, Johnson has the decision to make whether or not he wants to compete with someone in his same class or go elsewhere and be the guy. Or they just bump him out. Either way I'm pretty sure Francois is a take for them. They are even recruiting another QB Kai Locksley

I dont think ND will want to deal with Francois drama. He has some potential but not enough to put up with his recruitment. Id be shocked if they went after him hard.

Academics or just the same BS drama we get from 90% of FL recruits?

@AnnaHScout: 4-star QB Deondre Francois releases top 3, drops the Irish - "I don’t even have a relationship with the coaches."

I'll look at the glass half full and say the staff is confident where they stand with Waller.

Top 3 is Auburn, FSU, Oregon

What he really meant to say.

Or it was the fact he plans on committing in August and taking all 5 officials that turned ND off. lol

If that's the case then good on the staff for saying thanks, but no thanks - ESPECIALLY if they don't feel like they're a real player here.

Always saw him as more of an athlete than a QB, not a loss in my opinion.

Right now, Oregon, Auburn, Florida State and Notre Dame,” Francois said of his top schools. “I just put Notre Dame in there, but I still have the same top three of Oregon, Auburn and Florida State, but I’m liking Notre Dame more and more every day.

“Right now I have interest in all of them. I plan on going back to Florida State and back to Auburn and try and get up to Oregon and try and get up to Notre Dame.

Smoke up the ass.

As we've seen time after time, genuine interest in a school is usually linked with actually visiting said school.

If recruiting services ranked classes based solely on kids who said they'd like to visit, ND would be number 1 in the nation every year.

I'm starting to believe that recruits like the attention from the ND fan base on twitter so that's why we are "in" so many top 5s. Thanks to Paul Nelson and Fister. All hail those guys. NDs #1 recruiters.

I can't really think of an apt comparison, but I know some kids want to tell people (wether it's the media, fans, chicks, friends, or family), "Yeah, I might go to Notre Dame." No other school elicits the "Damn, this dude is athletic AND smart, he's sophisticated and worldly, he's really got his shit together" response from the mentioned onlookers like ND does.
