People need to take a pill. This kid has been all ND his entire life from all reports. Is a great student from all reports. I've seen nothing that would prompt all of the doom and gloom. Give it a rest, life's too short for al this negativity.

Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I have been thinking about this. Barnett and Hodge have been talking about this. I believe Jerry is solid. Someone reported that one trip "to LSU" was entirely academically related. Although I cannot quote the source; it reminded me of the time my son won a state-wide math contest and they went with the teachers to Columbus for a presentation and award ceremony at tOSU. Coach Cooper, and President Gee and a bunch of Buckeye players were there. My son wore his Blue and Gold loud and proud. The teacher was aghast. Archie Griffith reportedly graciously said he hoped there was time to change my sons mind.

Tillery was on campus for some event scheduled, entirely different from his recruitment and the LSU coaches found out about it and made sure to bump into him. I remember Jerry saying something about that, and sounding a tad bit irritated too.

The thing about all of this is that reporters, the less independent, and objective, report what they hear, and what they hear is what they and their paycheck, (readership) want to hear. The only thing that trumps that is if the drama is so great that the effect of a dramatic accident can be achieved. You, know bad news you just can't pass reading and being cranked about.

I have seen interview situations where the subject is trapped into answering the question the way the interviewer wants. And I have seen situations where the interviewer extrapolates answers the subject question in a way the readership wants to hear.

The best way to survive a subjective interview is to agree with the interviewer. That ends the conversation.

Competed in triathlon today, swam 400 meters, biked 11 miles and ran three miles (at 6'5 300+ pounds!)

Maintains he's solid, will EE, and will be at II in June at ND.

LSU had a big recruiting weekend this past weekend called the Bayou Picnic. Doesn't look like Tillery was there.

Jerry Tillery Shows Off Athleticism And Stamina

LSU recruiting analyst Sonny Shipp informs me that Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian Academy four-star offensive tackle Jerry Tillery competed in a Triathlon earlier today. During the competition, the Notre Dame commit swam 400 meters, biked 11 miles and ran three miles.
Tillery maintains that he's solid in his pledge to the Irish and plans to be on campus for the Irish Invasion on June 20.
Per 247Sports, Tillery is the No. 73 overall prospect in the country, the No. 8 offensive tackle in the nation and the No. 3 recruit in Louisiana.

Another exciting athlete coming in on the O-Line. Hope he sticks because he and Nelson from 2014 could be top-10 picks with their natural abilities.

Love this.

If you add up all of the respective events I have done in my life, I probably still haven't completed a triathlon.

The closest I've come is my Solid Snake character in The Metal Gear video game.

Barton Simmons with a CB flip to LSU:
With Tillery, I still think that Jerry is all in with Notre Dame right now. But I've talked to people who have indicated that his family is much less gung-ho on the Irish.

I don't think anything will necessarily happen soon but I think eventually, LSU will be able to turn him.

Feel like this is inevitable. While part of me wants to hold out hope, I think ripping the Band-Aid off now is necessary.

Don't do it. It will heal in due time.

Think that's a very fair assessment. Will be interesting to see what happens, but this is just one more piece of evidence towards what we all have been hearing/reading about Tillery's parental units.

I will legitimately be sad for this kid if external influence pushes him to a fourth-rate state university over ND.

Don't his parents have some Notre Dame connection, which is why he grew up a Notre Dame fan in the first place? I can't remember.
I get "stay close to home" argument, and see how it can carry more weight as Signing Day nears, but frankly that works most with kids who aren't as worldly and well-educated as Jerry Tillery appears to be (peruse his Twitter feed. The kid's well aware of life beyond Shreveport and football). That worldliness and education tends to be instilled by parents. I find it hard to believe that parents who raise that kind of young man would really push him to go to LSU if he prefers Notre Dame.

I'm clearly jaded, because the first thing I assumed this meant is that Tillery isn't a true ND commit.
