I am there for you...anything from The Professional...to the Fifth Element...to Detective/Commissioner Gordon...etc

Whoa whoa whoa. I love the Fifth Element... But who did Oldman play? The only one I can think of is Zorg, but that is wayyyyy different than any Oldman I've seen, accent and look and everything.

Ima hit the ignore button next stupid thing you type.

its so bad!

at the beginning when the crew member wearing jeans and smoking a cigarette shows up behind the horses head after the battle.

the propane/air compressors on the bottom of the chariots during the wrecks.

Russel Crowe winning the oscar for it over Tom Hanks in "cast away". because seriously, anyone could've played Maximus, but no one besides Hanks can command a movie for close to 45 minutes--BY THEMSELVES. "Cast Away" is the very definition of acting.

it's an ok story, but didn't deserve the hype it received.

Ignore me all you want, but no. I'm not entertained.

That doesn't really bother me so much.

That's probably fair. Any stud action star could be Maximus.

It's one of those fucking awesome movies that is clearly made with all of the tired blockbuster cliches. But it's so damn good.

i have not. but i have heard he was very difficult back in this time period. when he was nominated and winning oscars, breaking up marriages, drinking and fighting, I've heard after his career cooled, so did he. i've heard nothing of note from people that did "Man of Steel" with him.

Or a new thread.

I stand by what I said, Leo isn't even close to GOAT.

My bias: dude annoys me to no-end in most of his roles.

I did like The Departed, Inception, Gangs of New York, What's Eating Gilbert Grape...

But let's not act like he doesn't have garbage movies.

Leo is the GOAT already???

LOL!!!

He is not even the best actor of HIS generation much less the best ever.

For real. I don't get the love.

Also, I submit that if,

then you haven't seen many actors.

Boondock was hyped SO HARD to me by friends and even my wife... Finally saw it about three years back... Came away thinking wtf did I just watch!?!? THAT was what y'all slurped on for all these years??

Easily one of the most overrated films I've ever seen.

Ah...close my astute friend. but a couple things. A.)he still had animated (both in life and CGI) things around him and interacting with him, his dog and the dark eaters--or whatever they were called.
b.) the amount of time he is "alone" isn't the same.
c.) they use at least 3 maybe 4 (going from memory) flashbacks of complete populace and chaos to "break up" his amount of "alone time". not just as a story telling device, but for editing purpose and pacing. "cast away" does not share that luxury. you are with hanks. on an island. alone. with an inanimate object. for close to 45 straight minutes. and its entertaining and engaging.

Eh I'd still be more inclined to say that's good editing and a good screenplay than a legendary performance by an actor.

Shit WALL-E was able to do the same thing. In a kids movie, with a garbage disposal.

I know it's not. I suppose I should have been more clear. Don't confuse it with a Pixar film (since most are brilliant) because it isn't, but it's still a good and enjoyable film.

I think its safe to say we have two separate definitions of "enjoyable".

Fair enough. I for one greatly enjoy well made animated films even if kids are the target audience.

I may get into a battle over this one but i really do believe George Clooney is a bit overrated. He's great in oh brother and syriana but other than those he always seems to be playing an extension of himself. Dude does pull some fine pussy though, that i will give him

Not saying he's underrated because he's not in enough movies to be a super star, but the guy who starred in Hotel Rawanda was awesome in that movie.

Wish he'd do more.

The best actor of all time begins with a D and ends with an aniel Day-Lewis.

Leo is the man, no doubt, and by the end of his career he might have a claim to the throne, but he's got work to do.

Agreed. DDL is amazing. The guy does one movie every few years and wins an oscar for it. I would put Tom Hanks second on the list but nobody touches DDL. My favorite role of his was Bill "the Butcher" Cutting in Gangs of New York, which is one of my favorite movies, despite my hatred for Cameron Diaz.

Don Cheadle? He's in a good amount of movies. Check imdb.

Wall-E is the Cast Away of animated films. Take some time and pay attention to all the minute sounds and environmental noises that had to be used to fill the space in that movie. I personally think that is a animation masterpiece.

It's a point of pride with me that I've never seen a minute of Harry Potter...
