Not sure why any of these systems are able to manually be shut down. Makes no sense.

I thougt this at first, but that's now why I believe it was an electrical fire. It explains why the pilot manually shut it down.

With relatives and others throwing blame on the Malaysian government for looking in the wrong places, an Aussie official last night made an apt comment, "We're not looking for the needle in a haystack, we're looking for the haystack."

Unfortunately they don't know where in an area bigger than The Great Plains that unknown haystack is drifting.

He did note that before the weather grounded planes buoys were dropped which will run with the seas.

China isn't going for this answer yet until they see the satellite data for themselves. There's still so many unanswered questions on this with regard to the two people with stolen id's and photoshopped pictures, the ties to "Mr. Ali", the mystery caller to the pilot and more. This is so bizarre.

On the conspiracy note, the one I've heard is the plane went to 45,000 feet because the lack of oxygen could have killed all the passengers and crew except the pilot who hijacked it, dove to below 5,000 feet to avoid radar and flew the plane to Pakistan or Africa where it is being outfitted for terrorism. Israel has actually prepped defenses in case the plane suddenly shows up headed towards them.

What's all this?

The two Iranians with the stolen passports were found to be migrants with no ties to terror groups. But I haven't heard anything about the bolded.

Has it ever been made public what satellite images prompted them to 'confirm' what they have?? Meaning did they positively identify the logo a piece of the plane?

It was from a 1990s era non-GPS satellite LOL.

As of 8 hours ago (last report I found) there has been NO confirmation of Flight 370 wreckage. The previous reports have been about unidentified "possible" debris. One report last night mentioned green colored debris that "could be" similar.

At this point I'm not sure there is a story that I would believe. Pictures of the wreckage could be faked. Hell as much time as its been, the wreckage itself could be faked. There are so many people involved in the search for the plane and none of them seem to give full disclosure of their knowledge.

Here is the picture that was being used by mainstream news outlets. Photoshopping is described.

Pretty interesting. I have been regularly checking up on this story with major news media and this is the first time I have seen these pictures. So the caption may be stretching it a bit.

Definitely photoshopped though.

Malaysia Flight 370: Signals consistent with those from data recorders - CNN.com

By Holly Yan and Catherine E. Shoichet, CNN
updated 3:19 AM EDT, Mon April 7, 2014

A pinger locator in the Indian Ocean has detected signals consistent with those emitted by a flight data recorder and a cockpit voice recorder, the head of the Australian agency coordinating search operations said Monday.
The sounds were heard at a depth of 4,500 meters (about 14,800 feet), retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston said.
"We've got a visual indication on a screen, and we've also got an audible signal. And the audible signal sounds to me just like an emergency locator beacon," Houston said.
"We are encouraged that we are very close to where we need to be."
But it could take days before officials can confirm whether the signals did indeed come from the plane, which fell off the radar on March 8 with 239 people on board.

That's a long way down. Recovering the box may be difficult.

Pressure as a function of depth = unit weight of water * depth
P=(62.43 lb/cubic foot @ 40 degrees F)*(14,800 feet deep)
P= 923,964 psf (roughly)

Its going to be difficult for sure. I don't know how many submersibles we have that can go down that far and withstand that pressure.

15,000 Feet results in 47.4 million Pa.!

At that sort of pressure, any air in your body would be extensively compressed and your ears/eyes/lungs would be effectively crushed. The rest of the body might survive since it has fluid (blood) running through it, but you wouldn't be able to breathe and take in air through a pipe because your muscles wouldn't be strong enough to resist the external pressure.

I saw that as well. Be interesting if they end up searching that area. I tend to believe they are searching the right area because of the whole pinger deal, however.

Very interesting.

It very well could be a sunken ship or another wreckage though. Curious to see what comes of this.

It would have to be one with jet fuel on it…

"During the search for MH370, GeoResonance searched for chemical elements that make up a Boeing 777: aluminum, titanium, copper, steel alloys, jet fuel residue, and several other substances.

and an unregistered wreck.
