agree on our WR being deep, but i also don't see him seeing the field as a 1st year player and by the time he actually plays, he will be lined up as a flex te who appears to be more athletic than any TE on the team...i have seen others say that flex te and wr are the same but they are not.

inline- luatua, smith, koyack
flex-weishar, mike h

I see and then thats gets into the whole conversation about how many are we taking and at what position is Boykin. As long as we have space for the difference makers we are still recruiting, then I'm all good with taking him now.

Was supposed to travel with Weishar, and I don't recall seeing anywhere that he made it either.

Hate when this happens. Have to convince myself each time that it's not necessarily a bad thing and indicative of the recruits level of interest. I know things come up.

Pretty sure something came up with whoever was driving the full group.

Diaco/UCONN have zero commits so far in this class while, just north of Storrs, CT, Steve Addazio is crushing it at BC this cycle. Given how Diaco finished last class (not well), and the way this class is going (not well), the Diaco experiment at UCONN may end up being a disaster.

It's April...

He'll get his commits in due time.

That's what Charlie Molnar said at UMASS...Didn't work out too well for him.

But, you're right, it's April and still very early. Only 86 of 125 FBS schools (69%) have a committed recruit at this point in the cycle. However, UCONN isn't leading for any of New England's (basically CT and MA) top recruits right now. Diaco showed in the last cycle that he is going to recruit nationally, but I would think he'd want to create more a footprint in his backyard as most new coaches do.

If his strategy is to recruit nationally and let BC and others own his backyard, I'm not real confident he will have any success at UCONN. We'll see though. He hasn't even coached a game yet and I have him on the hot seat. :)

Don't forget losing an assistant for bringing Jesus into the huddle. That kind of lack of discipline cannot be underrated.

Recruiting nationally to a northern school (which is in the middle of nowhere, I might add) with no football tradition or even an on-campus stadium is not going to be easy. Diaco & co. really ought to focus on getting to know Mass., Conn., upstate NY and New Jersey. It may not have the talent base of Florida (though a lot of good players come out of New Jersey), but the hit rate will be a lot higher.
But, sure, go up against Notre Dame for Miles Boykin.

that picture reminds me of devin funchess from ann arbor

He's almost identical to Funchess as a prospect, IMO. GBDomer was the first person I saw bring that up and I think it is spot on.

Has there been any word of whether we still lead or an order to his options since all these recent offers have come in?
