ND squarely in the mix. Final decision between unc ND osu Michigan at the end of April.
I hung out with him for the night. That was really fun to have the opportunity to see what they’re like away from the coaches. They’re all awesome guys; just like myself. That was really fun.
I’d heard so much about it, but I never had an opportunity to come see it. Being on campus and seeing it with my own eyes, it’s incredible. Words can’t even describe the feeling you get when you’re on campus at Notre Dame.
I’m going to go to Ohio State and Michigan April 18th and 19th. I’m going to make a decision out of those four schools. I might stay with UNC or I might go to Notre Dame, Michigan or Ohio State. It’s going to be late-April, when I’m really going to pick a school and be done with it.
Recruitment has a lot of parallels to Anzalone. In this case, UNC seems like his Ohio State. Wouldn't be surprised if where he picks at end of April doesn't end up being his final destination.
Ultimately, I expect him to end up a Buckeye. I think this is the kind of race Urban Meyer wins. Just gut feeling. I was way off on my assumptions before, so maybe I will be here again.

I feel bad for UNC fans. I'd be shocked if he stuck with them. His CB is funny because 5 teams have picks for them and not one is UNC, lol.
Any word on Reid? I take it he's still on campus?
I too am an awesome guy, like him.
I'm not real sure why he is listed as a "UNC Verbal". Sounds like he has a top 4 to me.
Also won't be too upset if he goes elsewhere. ND's next TE will be great, regardless. They always are.
Notre Dame doesn't necessarily turn you into a person I want to be around, but the people I want to be around choose Notre Dame. In other words, it's a selection process and it's a combination. Notre Dame doesn't necessarily turn people into a Notre Dame-type person, but the Notre Dame-type person chooses to be at Notre Dame. You can tell a lot about a person by who they choose to associate with, who they choose to partner with, and I think Notre Dame has a clear idea that it's a long-term relationship. It's a family. It's a lot about the Catholic traditions, even if you aren't Catholic . . .

I'll bet 100 million that wherever he commits next, he signs.
IMO
he even admitted to everyone he committed to UNC to early
ND leads
will love OSU and Meyer
Will decommitt from UNC
Be a roller coaster ride between ND, OSU and a couple other random schools
Will be a 43 page thread on IE
Then after this point I will stop caring.
Hoping he ends up at ND though
Pretty much my thoughts, except that you can put after this point I will stop caring right after he committed to UNC.
Why do people think he has academic problems? As far as I can tell those "rumors" started here with people trying to console themselves over losing a kid many viewed as a ND lock. Is there any substantiation to the academic issues many are referring to or is it simply people on this board not wanting to believe that a kid with strong ties to ND wants to go elsewhere for school? He comes from what appears to be a long line of ND grads, which means his family more than likely emphasizes academics pretty strongly, and he goes to Avon Old Farms, which is one of the top prep schools in the country. Everything, on the surface, about this kid screams "solid academically."
The bolded is what everyone assumed.
The rumors are not unsubstantiated free board musings from randos... ISD, II, and 247 all reported in different ways that there was work to be done. That's where all that came from, Mike Frank, TJ, etc. reporting that info to paying subscribers to their boards.
Me too.
My prediction is he is going to go to Michigan and love it, and then OSU and love it. He'll feel pressured to 'keep his word' and commit in April. I don't know if he will, but he shouldn't unless ND blows the rest out of the water (and I STILL think he shouldn't commit).
I think he likes the attention of the recruiting game, so he should just let it play out, enjoy the process and choose on NSD. GB, just wait til he sees everyone going on OV's and talking to reporters and coaches and getting all kinds of love from the recruiting services, while he's married to a girl who won't let him go out with his boys. His tune will change, I can almost guarantee it.
He should enjoy the process and not commit until after his senior season IMO. But it's his life of course, and I wish him luck whatever he chooses.
