they cant let this fester....it has to be addressed ASAP. The fact that Swarbrick had an impromptu press conference, something that wasnt even done to address BK rumors last week, tells me this is a situation that needs to be addressed ASAP.

Unfortunately it will always be a Notre Dame issue. Outsiders are confused and baffled with Manti, and those same outsiders are the ones spewing hate towards ND. They want to bring the University down in anyway possible.

Some have alleged that Kekua told Te'o @iworship was a relative of hers, and that's why he RT'd. Others claim that Te'o and Tuiasosopo have a pre-existing relationship. Would love to get clarification on that.

If you wanted to blackmail a first round draft pick, the time to do it is after he is no longer in college, has acquired an agent and before the draft. Then he has the means to pay you and has the most to lose financially and the financial backing (through the agent) to pay you off. Thus hitting him at the end of the season, before the awards circuit and NCG for highest emotional impact and spilling the beans at this point if he isn't paying up.

There's a TMZ story about a girl who was "duped" by him, and he represented himself as someone related to the fictitious girl. So, I imagine that's how that went down.

I don't think the student/ graduate distinction is very helpful here. Te'o is the most famous athlete ND has ever produced. His brand is strongly linked to ND's, so ND has plenty of incentive to help him if it can.

I really hope Te'o is just a naive victim here. Even as an ND fan, this whole situation is absolutely intriguing, and definitely the most bizarre sports story of my life.

I'm not saying they dont have incentive. All I was refuting was the statement that ND's PR is controlling when he speaks. They arent. His agent is.

I agree with you on anything coming from Manti will be handled through his agent, but there's a part of me that believes ND will not sit idle during this whole ordeal.
