I like this kid better as a WR than as a TE. I know a lot of people see 6'5" and think a guy can just add some weight and move inside, but I just didn't see it with this guy. If he was always flexed, then he is just a glorified wide out anyways. Offering him as a WR and seeing how he continues to develop is a great idea by BK.

Per Scout: The visit was awesome and he is very excited about the offer. Nothing new overall.

Bump, his 40 time really 4.41? Would be crazy for a guy his size.

Jake Brown said he ran a 4.77 at the UA All-America Combine, which makes more sense but still pretty fast. Although I'm seeing other places where he's reportedly run a 4.41 or 4.44.

hand time with your coach holding it is quite different than electronic with a un-biased coach operating.

just saying

Let's be honest, that is not fast at all for a WR which he's trying to play. For a TE it's a fair time, but definately not for a WR.

Agreed, but I was thinking that in terms of his size (6-4, 6-5 possibly)

That's fair, and it's probably likely that he's faster than the 4.77, since he reports ~4.41. Guessing he's around 4.6, which is very good for his size.

Lucky or Stl I believe his offer is actionable. Where does he fit in the three type of receivers that we are recruiting. Does ESB or Strickland get bumped?

Weird that Wiltfong and others still have CBs locked in for MSU. I don't know when/if he visited Sparty, but this is like his 4th unofficial visit to ND.

ISD is reporting he is coming in with Weishar and Nile Sykes to watch practice. He has known Weishar for years and was a member of Core 6 with Sykes. Both are helping in the push to get Boykin to sign with ND.

Love seeing kids that aren't even enrolled yet getting involved in the next class. Seems we've been picking up steam on Core 6 guys recently, IIRC I thought at one point ND was at odds with them?

Would be a great addition to Barnett. We'll need a couple game breakers after him since he looks to fill the possession/split-out receiver. He'd be nasty in the slot on running plays. Looks like a physical guy.

Core 6 is run by Big Ten guys who push kids towards Big Ten schools. Lemming referenced them (without name dropping, he said he's no snitch) at the clinic this past weekend saying something along the lines that what they are doing should be looked at by the NCAA. They drive vans of guys to Big Ten schools to visit, but not anywhere else.

yup most of the coaches are former BigTen players. It's a little fishy alright

Ted Ginn Sr. did/does the van tour of Big Ten schools for kids in northern Ohio. It's a great opportunity for kids who are under-evaluated to get more eyes on them. It's how Dane Sanzenbacher was discovered by Tressel and Co.
