We need Lax to let us know if kids from Chester are ND types.

Is talking to his parents currently about coming to Junior Day. Is visiting other schools so he isn't sure if he'll be able to. Called the ND offer a big one. And understands it's an important offer because not everybody gets recruited by ND. Says that he respects the school and is thankful for the offer.

What's up in Va? Seems their talent level is getting better and better. Always been pretty good, but it seems they have more and more elite players these days.

It's always been really great but previously it just used to go unnoticed. That's why Virginia Tech won 10+ games every year for like a decade despite "horrible" recruiting classes... they gobbled up all the under the radar talent from Virginia. Simple fact is that pre-Mike Vick no one paid enough attention to the poor kids in Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Woodbridge/Richmond/etc. Gradually over time, the state has gotten more and more well-scouted.

The Hokies are in a world of pain now:
1. Mike London steals a lot of the top guys because of his connections to Virginia Beach, etc.
2. Other top prospects are almost all heading out of state now to other blue blood schools (i.e. Alabama, Ohio State, etc.)
3. Those with an academics focus from Northern Virginia have been regularly selecting Stanford or Notre Dame (i.e. Ed Reynolds, Alex Carter, CJ Prosise, Doug Randolph, Greer Martini, etc.) if given the option.

A lot of people point to Percy Harvin being the #1 overall recruit in 2005 and getting so much pub and then leaving for Florida as sort of the beginning of where it all started to come apart.

That's a pretty solid list of players. The state sure isn't under the radar now. Thanks for sharing.

Still pissed we didn't recruit Alex Carter more heavily than we did. He was a must get that year...

On National Signing Day, 66 Virginia football players received FBS scholarships out of a pool of 25,965 state players. That's a ratio of 1 scholarship for every 393 players. In contrast, Pennsylvania's pool of 26,280 football players were awarded 60 FBS scholarships - ration 1 out of 438. Then, consider the dilemma of high school football in Minnesota. There were 8 FBS scholarships for 24,574 players - ratio 1 - 3072. Looking for high school football players? 351 scholarships awarded to Florida players out of a pool of 34,848 players for an incredible 1 - 99 ratio. Georgia comes in second with a 1 -176 ratio.

It's a shame how many of them go to the SEC

Taylor kind of looks like Nix as a Frosh.

Do you have a site that gives these numbers for every state? I would love to see that.

Per II, he's planning on visiting June 20th for our "elite" camp. Plans to narrow things down in June and decide on Aug.28th. Good timin for a visit. Things he knows about ND. He'll get a great education and win a lot of ball games.
