Like them or not Bama is the team to beat right now in college football. Their run the last 5 years is unreal.

ND fans want the 5star kids to commit then get worried everytime a 5 star program offers, its the name of the game. But if Bama doesnt offer then his offer list is questioned.

Blake falls right in the middle. He's not a burner, but enough mobility to make people pay. Much like Gunner Kiel in '12.

Blake is a much better runner than Gunner. Blake is probably faster than Golson was when he entered in Notre Dame. He is a more polished passer, but he is definitely a dual threat

I see where you're coming from due to the strengths of his playing style, but I consider him to be pretty balanced. His top quality is the potential of an NFL arm, but he's got enough athleticism to operate in spread (ND) or multiple (UC) offenses, which to me is enough for at least a "balanced" title.

I was supporting a college workshop last night and ended up speaking with parent, in the conversation he tells me his son goes to SantiagoHS. After we were done with matters regarding the college workshop, I asked his son if he knew Blake Barnett, and the student said "Yes, we're friends."

The student then proceeded to say without me asking a question, "you know he got on offer from Alabama?" Before I could answer, he says, "but they're too late, he has already made his decision..."

I told him, "I heard about Oregon puttting a full court press on him, as well as Michigan."

The student says, "He is 100% Notre Dame. He loves Notre Dame."

Yeah, he's so good he's going to get offers and attention from everywhere. And they all know they have to neg recruit Notre Dame. And they will push hard for "just a visit."

But he literally has his walls covered with Irish stuff and is about as solid as it gets for an early commit of his caliber. As long as we don't implode on the field and Kelly stays at the helm I don't envision a scenario where he jumps ship. Maybe that's me being naïve, but especially if USC holds onto Town and UCLA gets Rosen it's just not realistic to see him anywhere else right now. He's currently in position to be the leader of this class and help build it into something great.
