Kids got good athleticism but idk if he could get big enough to be a LB for us.

Mentioned in another recruits thread that Steve Wiltfong has Asmar ranked the #1 recruit in Indiana for 2015. Plays for power house 6A Ben Davis so a lack of competition doesn't exist. I really like his tape.

I could see him getting into the 230-240 range and play OLB. But I agree with you if you're talking about MLB

Yeah I guess for a 4-3 he could be ok.

Here are LSU's starting LBs
Sam 25 Kwon Alexander 6-2 218 So.
Mike 31 D.J. Welter 6-1 226 Jr.
Will 18 Lamin Barrow 6-2 232 Sr.

Damn they are tiny

Sign him up. He's a jr in hs. I'm guessing he'd be able to get to 230 in college easily.

He probably will be at 215 or 220 buy season's end, get him up to 230 or 235 and he could play at that weight in college.

don't need to be HUGE to play ILB anymore imo...all you need to know is if the kid is tough. if he's tough he can play LB anywhere for us.

CJ Mosley was a ILB in the 3-4 (6'2 238) and he's going in the first round of the draft.

He doesn't look 6'3 to me.

He does look like he'd be a fantastic WLB.

Had a teammate/classmate in college who played at BD and won three state titles. He knows everyone over there. I'll see if I can get any inside information. Maybe at least a legit hand timed forty or something. I know BD has foreign language requirements though. Our alma mater had foreign language requirements.

He plays in the MIC which has about five schools that annually win the 6A state title. Most of the top ten in the 6A rankings come from the MIC.
Ben Davis
Carmel
Warren Central (Sheldon Day)
Center Grove
Lawrence Central

He has the height so I don't know why he couldn't add the weight.

Since he plays for Ben Davis, I hope Penn (another 6A power house near South Bend) plays Ben Davis so I can see him play

"I put a 247Sports Crystal Ball on Bilal for Notre Dame this afternoon. I think the Irish will be tough to beat if they offer and I'd be surprised if they don't ultimately pull the trigger, perhaps sooner rather than later."

- Wiltfong

Really nice free article up on 247 on him: Indianapolis LB Asmar Bilal Becoming A Blue-Chip Recruit

Bumped to 90 Rating, #9 ILB, #4 IN.

I'd like to see Bilal, Barajas, and Kirkland Jr. on campus for Junior day. Let the staff up close evaluate them and go from there.

I went to Ben Davis, the 6A MIC conference has probably the best talent in the state other than a few schools up north. To call Ben Davis a power house though is a stretch, in the 90's it was one of the top programs in the country but without getting into politics lets just say the talent is not there anymore.

I live 5 minutes from Ben Davis so ill definitely check his game out,

Sounds to me like Bama would be hard to beat if they offered before us.

He's an academic kid, and staying close to home tends to sway people. I'd be more worried about OSU or Michigan

If ND lands this kid it will be the fourth year in a row they pull the top recruit from the state of Indiana

BD and Penn usually open the season against each other or at least they used to.

While they're not the steamroller they used to be, they still field pretty decent teams. The difference between then and now is that before it was basically BD and WC in the MIC. Carmel and CG made some heavy commitments to football so the four started beating up on each other. I think the talent is there, it's just getting them to come out and commit like they did under Dulligan.

Per your political comment, does DD still wield some influence over there?

As far as i know not really, lets just say that some schools opening back up has really demolished some of BD's talent pool. But you are correct they do still field pretty good teams

This kid has the wingspan, the speed, the eye, the smarts, and hits with power. I am not sure that Jaylon got off blocks better as a junior. If this kid is smart enough to make it, sign him now.

Depending on how much weigh he puts on, he may be able to play three positions; he seems just like the kind of hybrid athlete that BVG wants for his defense.

I don't think so. I saw where Penn only gave up 6 total points last year in the regular season or something crazy like that. That would not happen if they played a 6A team from the city. A lot of fun playing everybody's little sister until Regionals finish.
