Hahahahahahah

Apparently McKenzie just texted Loy saying VT offered and he 'may not be visiting ND this weekend'.

I'm done with this headcase. Let's move on.

...through all thats being said, I still want him here. Sounding like its not happening though. Disappointing.

Ironman on a lighter note even with Alford visiting tonight, Mckenzie may not officially visit?

When will we have confirmation

This sucks, but ND shouldn't pull the offer IMO. For all we know, Vtech is some hyped up, Nike charged, football factory in Mack's eyes. Even if he does visit, there's a chance it's not going to live up to his own hype.

Sounds like his coaches are in our corner. Hopefully they settle him down tomorrow. If he visits I think he's ours.

Was the whole Loy debacle yesterday the first time, ever, that anyone heard that Va Tech was Mckenzie's "dream" offer?

A reputation? Neal never registered a reception at ND. He has no reputation here, and 95% of Irish fans won't remember him ever being here in 5 years.

And that's just silly. My twitter friends are non-ND fans, and would be more likely to take public shots at anything ND related. On here? You think IE members are going to 'tarnish' something ND-related?

I'm just saying, you make it seem like a bigger deal than I'm sure it is. I guarantee you if everyone knew, it'd be old news by tomorrow and all we'd care about is when/if McKenzie and Garnett landed in South Bend, but noted.

1. Where did I personally make it a big deal?
2. You really can't distinguish an on the field reputation from an overall, personal one?
3. IE is a public forum open to all. I can't tell you how many people google prospects names and their IE threads are one of the first things that come up. Silly not to realize IE's potential impact is VASTLY greater than your nice little twitter account.
4. May not be a big deal to you (and if it isn't, then again, why do you need to know?) but something like that stay on a public website as basically testimonial impacting his reputation negatively? That is a big deal IMO.

Sooner or later these kids need to be allowed to be responsible for their own actions.

I for one am just going to let this one ride and see how it turns out.

For any poker players out there, pot odds say stay in. I'm not going to lose sleep if he signs with another school, but he could still be a major asset for us, and while me may be a HS senior who can't make up his mind, we shouldn't be writing him off or making judgments.

Haha how VT could be anyone in FLs Dream School is beyond me. Does he want to be a freaking engineering major if something?

Ok, I've been rooting for this kid forever. But this is just ridiculous.

DROP HIM ND. ND would earn so much props for telling him to F off.

I was thinking the same thing. Who in the hell grows up a VT fan in FL? He's too young to vividly remember watching Vick.

Mike Vick, ay. But, Marcus, The People's Champ? How could anyone grow up NOT rooting for that guy and NOT wanting to follow in his footsteps? I know that Marcus has been nothing but an inspiring force in my life; a role model, you might say.

Par for the course. This kid LOVES the recruiting game.

Wait until after NSD, and there is no more attention. Wait until conditioning in the hot summer, and then in fall camp when he is 3rd on the depth chart and there are no fans to cheer for him and no one to beg him to go their school on twitter, and he's got coaches yelling at him and he's struggling to see the field, and then he's got to work on a paper after practice.

Those kids just either don't choose to come to ND or they don't last. See: Vanderdouche, Eddie.

I live in Virginia. I know literally hundreds of kids who went to Virginia Tech.

I have never in my life met someone who said Tech was their dream school. Not one person in my entire life living in the Commonwealth, going to public high school with many kids who enrolled at Tech, and working with tons of engineers who went to Tech. Wrap your head around that.

And now see if you're ready to believe McKenzie is... ummm... "mercurial." That is the most polite adjective I've got.

Exactly. People who want him at ND despite his recruiting craziness and questionable academics are being incredibly short-sighted.

@TomLoy247: Wednesday night update on #NotreDame WR target Isaiah McKenzie. Isaiah McKenzie just sent me a text (UPDATED) via @BGInews (VIP)

Ironman, is this the update you were talking about or is this something new?

Loy just talked to him. VaTech offer was big for him. May visit there this weekend instead of ND because he has been to ND and knows he could like it if he chose to go there. Doesn't think unofficial and official would be very different. Talked to Alford tonight about it and said the talk was a good one. He will call Alford tomorrow morning with his decision on where he's visiting this weekend. He won't commit this weekend regardless of where he visits and wants to announce on NSD.

0% chance he commits to ND if he doesn't make the visit. I'll bet all of my vbucks on it.

BTW Greyhammer seems to be back in business with his bet with Kuehnja, right?

Not doubting that Tech wasn't the dream school of people you know but come on. It isn't like Tech is Norfolk St. I have a number of friends whose dream school was Tech. The Hokies have a very strong fan base in VA and plenty of kids grow up Tech fans.

I agree it's bizarre that IM claims to have grown up a Tech fan but this isn't new info. I can remember back in November he tweeted that his favorite team growing up was VT. It has been on Tech boards for a while to that he has wanted a Tech offer really badly. They are worried they might lose Javon Harrison so they offered. He is interested. A lot of his recruitment is well summarized as "mercurial" but I'm not sure that I agree that this latest thing is.

I've had enough of this guy. If he can't see the difference between VT and ND then best he goes elsewhere.
