Take it slow, Upgrade everything before you upgrade TH ... Don't use gems

Yeah because things end up taking a ton of time to build. You can get a third builder at like 1250 trophies.

So what's the best strategy to start up? I reset mine and now I'm saving all the gems and just going after the goblin camps. When's it ideal to begin to attack others? What should be walled up first?

Upgrading everything before you upgrade your TH.
Going after the goblins, I think it's level 18 where it gets real hard real fast.

Don't attack others until you've exhausted your attacks on the goblins. Stay under that big shield until it runs out. The #1 thing to build/upgrade are resource collectors when starting off and under the big shield.

Would you recommend walling up the resource collectors above anything else? Btw, your city is damn good looking.

Actually, at low levels, I'd wall off defenses over anything with your few walls. Once your D dies then it really doesn't matter how protected the resources are.

This -- I assumed the Defense was walled Off... You can get all defense, TH, and storage inside the 25 allotment for walls with 3 or 4 leftover
