Also on campus today

It's part of a tour of Jacksonville kids on the same 7-7 team. Davis, Holland, and now Norton

Looks like he's taking a OV to ND.

Someone with Scout can confirm that but that's what I thought Anna's tweet points to.

The swan dive onto the running back at the 2:15 mark gets a 10.

So we're one of his OV's?
Looks like he's been quiet on the recruiting trail this fall, but 100% CB to Florida, though who knows what the future holds there.
Kendrick Norton

Would love another 300 pound Southern boy in the middle. But seems like a longshot for us.

"I'm going to take visits probably to Miami, Florida, Notre Dame and Ole Miss," Norton said. "I don't have any favorites out of those, though."
The 6-foot-3, 315-pound two-way lineman said he received a visit from defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder on Wednesday.
"I got to talk to the defensive coordinator some today," Norton said. "They like me a lot as a defensive lineman. And, I have an offer, but there's just not a spot for me right now. That could still change."
Norton first visited Notre Dame this past summer with some of his teammates and coaches.
"Notre Dame has great history and good academics," Norton said. "It's a great place to play football, too."
Norton is a three-star prospect and is ranked as the No. 31 offensive guard prospect in the class of 2015.
The Irish are also pursuing Trinity Christian Academy three-star defensive back Ben Edwards in the 2015 class. Trinity will head to on Saturday to participate in the 3A state championship vs. Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage.

Sounds like we are trying to set him up as an option in case we don't land as many prospects as we would like come signing day.

Can anyone remember the last time slow playing a prospect DIDN'T come back to bite us in the ass?

Yea, but you don't want to turn away one of your top 4 if you have a shot at landing them all. There are still other positions that have more pressing needs.

I'd love another DT/DE because I don't think we're getting good recruits at that position, but the fact that the staff doesn't know if they'll have room for him as to be a good sign. Means they think we fill this class, which with a crap ending to the season is impressive.

I just feel like we've all seen this movie before. It typically ends with a bare cupboard for ND.

Not really. It just means they have other guys they'd rather have that they are hoping will commit.

Yeah, but that's better than having room for any and all because we're desperate. To me, it means that they're satisfied with the DL they have committed and expect them to all stick. Going after possibly one more and are willing to wait it out because having one more is not a necessitiy. It's a good sign IMO.

Pretty sure we went all in well before NSD on that one.

True, but we let him leave camp without an offer and only pursued him in earnest after he'd committed to Purdue and put up insane performances in his senior year. We didn't wait until NSD, but we played his recruitment slower than he wanted/expected.
