Decommitted from Michigan

Somehow Michigan has already gained and lost 2 elite 2015 recruits before 2014 NSD hahaha

I literally looked at michigan's class on 24/7 yesterday and thought "I bet Harris decommits in the next couple months."

YOU'RE WELCOME EVERYONE

Kid grows up a Michigan fan, gets an offer, commits, and then decommits. Not looking good for the Pillsbury Dough Boy in Ann Arbor.

Mom still says Michigan is # 1 on his list. We shall see. OV's have a way of opening recruits eyes to other schools.

Then why decommit? Who did his mom say that to? Sounds like a cover story to get michigan reporters off her back.

She text that to Steve Lorenz.

An interesting note in the article is that since the speculation that he was looking around and could decommit he has had "negative fan interactions" and that these could ultimately push him away.

DO. NOT. TWEET. RECRUITS.

I have to agree with this. If you are sold on the school you stay as a commit. If you start to waver about wanting to go there then you look around. If you think you rushed it, made a bad choice, or no longer like the idea of playing there, then the decommit happens. And we all know how hard it can get for folks wanting interviews, blowing up twitter accounts, swearing at kids, sending death threat letters in the mail after you decommit from their favorite team.

Of course it could be that in order to look around he HAD to decommit per Hoke's no visit policy. Have to think that policy is going to die a much needed death shortly, as a commit visiting another school looks far less harmful to others and to momentum than a decommitment does.

The other visit policy doesn't really apply to kids like Harris. He might not be considered as a commit, per Hoke, if he visits but as soon as he says he wants back in the class then Hoke will take him. No shot Hoke tells him sorry about your luck. The no visit policy only applies to guys who can be replaced.

There is something more here than that policy.

I hope Fred Flinstone never does away with his "no visit" policy. It makes him seem like an even bigger chump every time a kid visits elsewhere...and yet he decides to take him anyway.

Pathetic how people react to 17-18 old decisions. I accidentally tweeted at Jaylon one day with Jake Brown and felt terrible.

Unless you're troll-tweeting other teams' recruits as a fake fan.

I wonder how often that happens. Probably more then what we would guess.

Yeah and it wouldn't be that hard. A fake twitter account with some vaguely racist comments or something and that could seriously ruin a recruitment.

I like that we were mentioned to get a look while the schools down south were just lumped together. Tells me there's no clear favorite from the SEC.

Evidently his high school coach and Borges had a connection and evidently was a factor in his decision to commit to Michigan.

Maybe it was a necessary change. But the Wolverines’s prized 2015 commit, five-star running back Damien Harris, soon tweeted, “Man ..... I can’t believe this about Coach Borges.”

Only time will tell whether or not Harris will decommit, but coaching changes certainly won’t help, even if the offense may improve without Borges. Harris’s high school coach has ties to Borges. The two coached together at Auburn in 2007. It’s possible that this is where Harris’s apparent displeasure with the move is rooted.
