I have to tell you all, I think I work as hard to follow the way Jesus taught us as the next man, and I am willing to admit how often I fail! But I cannot help looking at this furor of silly, stupid shit, at UConn, that earlier events this winter at ND have been a bit of an exorcism, or expectoration, at the very least.

Jesus said to love others as you would love me, and to treat others the way you would want to be treated. What part of this whole stupid circus has anything to do with his way?

To me the pertinent issue is the blindness to which this act was entered. Who would not see this train-wreck of idology on the horizon?

Where is the loving others as you would yourself. No, there is a furor of getting a point in. This is all (from an honest psychological perspective) about hiding each ones own adequacies by decrying the other. Pretty soon you will have some asshole pining for the good old days of the Crusades.

I will point things out, the same are true of me and all others. What happened to the directions of love one another? That is gone from here (the UConn events). It is gone from most modern-media, American Christan religious discussion (any perspective), and it was never at Fox in the first place.

A bit confused by your post. Just to be clear who's side are you on? UCONNs or the Coaches?

The whole thing is pretty much just weird. And I can't really say one side is actually right. Their both off imo.

Without comment on "confused," I feel impelled and compelled to note:

1) "whose" not "who's." ["which" would have been clearer.]

2) I'll give you a "bye" on the lack of an apostrophe denoting the possessive of UConn. It can be confusing.

3) "They're" not "Their."

Is there a specific emoticon or type style for "End of light-hearted largely senseless rant?"

It wasn't senseless nor a rant. It keeps this place from looking like an SEC board.

While I appreciate and hold dear your supportive comment, I'll revert to the early 18th century (when I was borne - mebe, mebe naught) and lay claim to the notion that "neither/nor" is the more proper construction.

"It "was neither senseless nor a rant" flows as Mead to the pounded pewter pint wessail in August.

(My thanks to Chekov )

Neither Sister Vilma nor Sister Tekla Marie (for once I ain't kiddin' – she was a nun I had as a teacher in 6th grade) really liked or appreciated me. I was a rapscallion. The number of knuckle rappings and ear jerkings were immeasurable.

I survived to be the old fart rapscallion you see today.

....*sigh* are you some elderly Chinese dude that got info from POWs in World World 1? Or did you just steal their technic?
As for 2), I was debating whether to put it or not so thats one win for me.

Is the light-hearted rant referring to my post or the one quoted?

Well first let me say this, Bogs, I love ya like you're my brother. Now let me say this... dafuq is all that about? Haha! I sat back a few minutes ago, grabbed the iPad & summoned up IrishEnvy to see the latest drama that threatens to have some , myself included at times, ready to jump off the proverbial ledge. I got to your quote & whew, my heads really spinning now. To be fair, I must point out that a couple of coaching buddies surprised me earlier by dropping by & informing me that I made the cut for next years hall of fame ballot. That was nice, however, the choice of drink was nothing short of AWESOME! My oldest, both in years old & years known, coaching bud has always been a little wiser with his money....and a hell of a lot luckier as well (at a coaching clinic in Biloxi,MS a few years ago, he hit the progressive jackpot on a quarter Wheel of Fortune machine! After Uncle Sam's cut, Greg pocketed just under 4 million). Anyways, he brought over some "celebrating single malt". That's what he called it & after I tasted it, I called it "liquid heaven"! Have any of y'all ever drank Speyburn 25 Year Old Single Malt Scotch? I have now, haha! However, unless he wants to buy me another bottle or 10,I won't be again any time soon. He said he gave $500 and change for the bottle. Yeah, that's pretty much my drinking allowance for a year! Shit, I forgot what I'm talking about, sorry. Oh yeah, Bogs... Is it your post that's confusing or is it me and my drunk ass that can't understand much. I say a little of both! You are the man Bogs, I am only joking around and poking some fun, although I really didn't understand sh*t in that post. Well, goodnight all! I am going to attempt a rare feat. I am going to first attempt to piss in the toilet without missing & soaking the little foot warmer mat. Then, for the tricky part, I will single handedly, since my wife and daughter are in Jackson,MS for another 3 days, attempt to disrobe and make it into bed without giving up & sleeping in my clothes on the couch. Stay tuned, after the hangover I will let y'all know if this dam near impossible feat was tackled!!!

The "light-hearted rant" is a reference to damn near every one of my posts, particularly those concerning grammar, spelling and style.

I don't always include it, but "dammit" at the conclusion is a tip-off.

No, he is just correct. Anyone want to argue the possessive for Jesus? Jesus' or Jesus's?

Cool, I feel you.
Its like there seems to be only two kinds of christians today. Those who come against evangelizing saying its not socially acceptable and you have to be tolerant...blah blah blah and then there are those who do it but do it, imho, in the wrong way i.e. Tim Tebow that just comes off as insincere, obligatory and not all that affective.
Its just unfortunate there is no balance because it is the Great Commission to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

No, he is just correct. Anyone want to argue the possessive for Jesus? Jesus' or Jesus's?

haha! Yes, I never said he wasn't correct...thats what makes it all the more torturous. lol

You didn't answer my question. And I agree with BGIF, its what makes us superior.
(Don't read this but I actually appreciate ya, the corrections and the learning.)

Friends don't let friends post drunk. We should have a sobriety test for submissions when the post has zero paragraphs and is one giant block of unattractive text.

Okay, so how is Big E doing today?? Hmmm???
ouch, you didn't have to yell! Haha! I am much too old to celebrate like that. I just rolled out of bed about 30 minutes ago. Haha! How's it going today Bogs? You may have missed it in my "unattractive text" last night, but I am one of 10 finalist for 4 spots on next years Hall of Fame inductees. (Felt that was good reason to celebrate).

Ok, new paragraph IB81. I personally have never fancied any text, much less found any attractive. :jerkit:Wow, I wouldn't want to type on IrishBlood81's keyboard! I bet it's sticky from all that text he finds attractive.

Now, back to the Hall of Justice. I looked briefly at my e-mail while ago & saw that "staff" from UCONN is lined up to speak at a coaching clinic. I am still a little fuzzy from last night, so I will have to go back & find out more.

With what you have accomplished under what circumstances you have been dealt. You already made all of the HOF's you really need to worry about bro! This is just icing, right? After seeing the pictures you posted from SB last year, I can stand by that!

I don't know about you but I prefer my text attractive rather than unattractive. At least someone will read it ;)

After Bogs post, I'm starting to wonder about what it is you have accomplished, the pics from SB, the HOF... and wondering if I'm disrespecting a legend... *gulp*
...sorry if I am!

Everybody on IE is a legend.

All I was saying is most men would not be able to shoulder the burden that my man from the land of the bloody stick has! All that and they are nominating him for the hall of fame for his coaching results.

I am very surprised that got him fired.

They're saying the "Jesus in the huddle" comment had nothing to do with it and Ernest is citing personal and family issues as the reason he is resigning. I guess it's possible that he realized he isn't up for the travel aspect of the job any more.

He's only 39 years old and has been controversially fired from a coaching position before. My guess is he was fired, but that's obviously not what his resignation says.

It's going to get real awkward when they find out that their starting QB is Jesus Martinez.

Probably let him say that to save face. It's a shame a comment like that would cost you your job.

There has been a lot of talk recently in different recruit's threads about Diaco's recruiting philosophy of targeting certain sizes for each position, and I had a few thoughts / questions that I thought would be better in this thread vs. a recruit's thread...

First, I get the sense people think this is unique to Bob Diaco and Notre Dame. I don't know of any specific examples of other schools employing this philosophy, but I am sure they are out there. Actually, I remember reading a few years ago that this is what Saban and Alabama does. Can TTown or Bishop provide any more detail on Alabama's recruiting philosophy as it pertains to certain heights / weights for positions? And, I am sure we are all aware of the differences between ND and Alabama, so let's not turn this into a comparison between the schools.

Second, why is Kelly getting a pass on this philosophy? Meaning, Diaco didn't call the shots or do this without Kelly's blessing or permission, so why isn't he sharing "blame"? Why have things changed from Kelly's perspective so quickly under BVG?

Kelly and Diaco broke up.

Seriously, Bob Diaco was in charge of recruiting, within the program. Kelly gives his staff autonomy for their responsibilities. This was clearly the case. Toward the end, the truth be told, I think Kelly overrode Diaco on a few. So the tide was moving, and BVG just came in and gave a face to the opposite sort of philosophy in recruiting, and on defense. So that made it more pronounced.
