I imagine Kiffin will be good for the Tide. What little success he's had in football has come as an assistant, not as a HC. That said, I do enjoy watching Kiffin fail, so I'll be sad if he succeeds.

Also factor in that Kiffin is a pretty damn good recruiter and its not like Alabama needs help with that, they've been #1 in recruiting 4 years running. They might take it to a decade.

That's a ton of money for a very successful football coach who happens to be from PA and is exactly what PSU needs right now. I don't care how much you hate Penn State. Going 8-4 at freakin Vandy is like Bama or LSU winning the SEC.

It's not like he was 8-4 at Florida or Texas. Look at what Vandy was before he got there. Franklin is getting a much better job and PSU wants stability in the football program.

I somewhat agree with what you're saying. Look at the teams he's beaten over the past 3 years though. There's not a whole lot there. He is the coach I didn't want at PSU though. He's pretty good, but the jury is still out as to how good. Luckily for him PSU's schedule is pretty soft.
