Do you have any eligibility left?

In all seriousness, I'd expect someone who ran a 4.9 to run a much slower 100m. Or vice versa (someone who ran a 12.0 100m to run a much faster 4.9).

A 12.0 isn't fast. Something <11.4 is fast. A 12.0 won't even make it out of districts at the smallest division in Ohio (and Districts are the first stage of OHSAA competition, ahead of Regionals and then the State meet).

What's so funny?

Stephon Tuitt might surprise you at the combine my friend.

He may need to get into shape first. The Tuitt we saw this year was far from what he was last year. For his sake I hope he spends every waking moment over the coming months trying to get that weight down

It's fast. Track is all about competing with other people who are also fast! I can guarantee you Tommy Rees doesn't run a 12!

At 270, 12.0 is flying.

Well Tommy Rees is not an athlete.

Agree to disagree. I'm no slouch in athletics but a 12.0 is not good (for a HS senior) in my opinion. I ran a 14.0 in 8th grade that was more impressive hahah

With Dickerson decommiting, this guys is now an absolute necessity.

He's from Nashville. Doubt he committed to Franklin, but the school instead.

So people complain when a school flips a commit to them for a "good reason" but we want to do the same here.

This isn't a shot at you, but I hate when people use this argument. Obviously we want players to flip to us, because we are fans and our allegiance is to a specific school.

Some are actually mad at the school but I'm more just disappointed to lose another good DL player. I think many are just upset after what happened with EV that anytime Mora gets one of our guys to flip or transfer to UCLA, he will be the bad guy. He burned all of his bridges with ND and ND fans after the crap he pulled with EV last year. If it were another school that Dickerson was going to, one who did not have a HC who poached (yes after signing his LOI, it is poaching if you or anyone you are connected with gets a player to back out of his LOI) then I doubt many of us would be as upset with the coach/school as much as we would just be upset about losing a good player at a position of need.

Tennessee and Ole Miss were in the mix beforehand. Texas and ND are the new guys to the show.

Texas is probably after every DT left now that they lost 3 of them in a week.

Sawyers could definitely ease the loss of Dickerson for me. I liked Matt's Junior film, but he was going to have to add some serious weight to play in the middle for us. Sawyers could just focus on getting stronger and faster rather than bulking up. Would be a great fit for us.

This. I don't care if a kid flips now and again. But there are limits to what I think is fair.

Didn't TP allude to ND not taking another DL/DT in this cycle (with the exception of a couple the staff had at the top of their board) because of other guys on board already? Like they gave their word to a recruit that they wouldn't bring in another guy, unless it was one specific guy?

Or was that just a random hypothetical he used?

That was prior to Dickersons situation.

I dont see ND offering Sawyer or the Valentine kid.

Quote from DT Michael Sawyers of Nashville, TN: Got off the shag.
"I feel like I could go there and compete for playing time. Everything about Texas would be great, the tradition, all that stuff. I think it's the kind of place you go to for an official visit and fall in love. I'm pretty sure they have a spot for me. Coach (Charlie) Strong is really still looking at the recruits they have and trying to make a decision. But I love Coach Strong and the coaches he's bringing with him from Louisville. I really like them when Louisville was recruiting me - I just didn't like what the school had to offer that much. But that staff was amazing."

The quote on ND:

Notre Dame: "It's a really nice school and the academics are amazing. I feel like I can get some early playing time and get a great education. Playing as a freshman at a school like Notre Dame would really mean a lot to me."

If he is visiting, it would probably be next weekend (17th) or the one after (24th). We'll see if ND and him can work to get it set up.

I don't understand why not. It's a position of need and we have room. Seems like a no brainer to me. Can somebody explain why we wouldn't offer those two guys?

With Valentine, he won't qualify. It's as simple as that.

With Sawyer, I'm with you. He's an option, albeit not the most well-known or highly rated, but would fit what we do defensively.

Trying never hurt.
