Yea, you don't have your own network and not expect the head football coach to make regular appearances........he will be behind the camera quite a bit.

I am still shocked they didn't get a bigger name, would love to know where he was on their wish list.

Saban, Fisher, Mahlzahn, Briles and potentially a few more were reportedly ahead.

I don't think there are many coaches that like the media. They are generally a distraction and their priorities don't line up with a coach's priorities.

Fine. Coaches have a job to do. Reporters have a job to do. They're all (mostly) professionals. But in this case the Longhorn Network isn't so much independent professional media as a promotional arm of the coach's employer. Dealing with them is a job requirement, or oughta be.

Yeah I have to agree with you there. I was speaking more about coaches and the media in general, but in this case you are right, the Longhorn Network is more of a marketing tool than independent media and the obligation to provide access is or will be part of the job.

Source said, "I really don't think he knows. He's trying to decide. I think he'll talk to people he trusts, like Lou Holtz."

If I'm Louisville I'd strongly consider Jim McElwain at Colorado State. Saban's former right hand man has done an excellent job at CSU.

Maybe Louisville will go after Ed O? He could do some damage there.

Anyone think KC will open his recruitment?

Doubtful. I don't know if he'd even be a take for us right now, but even if so we'd have a very small window to make inroads as he's an EE for the Canes.

If I am Golden, I want guaranteed 7 years, I'd want to get past the sanctions and have several years to rebuild.
