Shanahan should be canned before the Redskins make it to the locker room today.

Chudzinski done in Cleveland. Is it wrong that I didn't even know who coached the Browns? Sorry ACamp.

That's crazy. I know they had a tough second half but they seemed to overachieve if anything this season. Can't figure that one out, but the Browns are a ridiculously run organization.

Thought the potential firing was ridiculous. But if this is how the players all feel, can't really argue with it.

It's how one player feels. Probably some 5th string receiver that doesn't get any PT.

Maybe not if they were good players, but they aren't. They're browns. You liked the guy enough to hire him and you're going to let a roster full of borderline NFL players run him off after a year?

So either trying to negotiate reduced buyout, reduced salary to return for next year, post mortem to refocus for next year including staff changes, or a formality to fire him face to face.

Can't believe how bad the Lions shit the bed to end this year. It's 75% Matt Stafford, not the coaches, IMO.

I think all non-playoff coaches will be meeting with their ownership/management tomorrow or Tuesday for exit interviews. Some of them will be fired but most won't be. Still, coaches don't just pack up and leave town when the season ends. They have to have an end-of-year meeting to discuss the year and to-dos going into the off-season.

You also can't have a coach that is possibly alienating 1/2 the roster.

Also, Mike Silver had a lot of quotes from players that are shocked and furious about Chud getting the ax. I don't doubt that it is easy enough to find one out of the 53 guys in the locker room to give you the quote you want, for or against.

But isn't it coaching that fixes Stafford's problems? Whoever the next coach is needs to be a QB guy.

5 pro bowlers and an alternate? Me you buster and piambino could have coached the browns to 6 wins. We don't have a great roster, but the blah blah blah it's the browns argument is a misnomer. The browns had the most pro bowlers in the AFC north.

They didn't like him that much he was their fourth, and some would say desperate option. The prevailing opinion is that they already have someone lined up. Obrien possibly bc of his connection to Lombardi makes a lot of sense.

Stafford declined working with a QB guru in the offseason so I don't think that would matter. Stafford only produces numbers by throwing lobs to Megatron.

Jets owner Woody Johnson announced his team will retain HC Rex Ryan.

Ryan's got more lives than a cat.

Honestly though he did a damn good job this year. 8-8 with a rookie qb and literally no quality skill position players.

agreed...its why the Browns will never be the Steelers...all boils down to ownership...

This is all really pathetic and laughable by the Browns. On the surface, firing Chudzinski after 1 year is a complete joke...especially considering it was a former regime that used a 1st round pick on a QB that is older than dshans...and wasn't ever worth a 1st round pick to begin with. Chudzinski had to pay for another man's mistake when it came to his QB. Honestly, I think the best move the Browns have made, since their reincarnation, was flipping Trent Richardson for a 1st round pick. Too bad they spent the 3rd pick in the draft to get a 20-something pick out of it though.

The rumor last year was that Lombardi and Saban have a good relationship, and that Haslam really wants Saban as his coach as well. Wonder if this rumor will flare back up?
