There was a huge talent difference last year in the Sun Bowl, but that didn't work out for them.

Not as big with Georgia Tech. They have some decent athletes, just the coaching sucks. Not to mention, remember who was coaching then.

I wouldn't go that far. Did you watch them play UCLA?

No I missed that one but I saw them whoop Stanford. And Stanford is a much better team than UCLA IMO so for SC to beat them like they did, that was a bit worrisome for next season. I don't think Stanford was as good this year as in the last few seasons but they still beat a good Oregon team so it definitely surprised me that USC dominated them like they did.

Not to nitpick, but they beat Stanford on a last second field goal. They were out gained by Stanford. They only put up 311 total yards and only 23 of them were via rushing. Stanford also missed a field goal during the game. Had it not been for Stanford's 3 turnovers, they would have won. So yeah, I guess you watched a different game than me.

Even if that was true, which it's not, that would be even scarier because this would show you how good SC can be when motivated.

I disagree. Georgia Tech didn't have nearly the talent on their roster as USC did last year and I'm not sure that the talent difference on GT versus Fresno is that great. Irregardless, it just goes to show you how important coaching is, even to a team loaded with 4 & 5 star players.

I think more than anything, it shows how important it is to have a competent QB

So Dion Bailey is going pro ... I wonder if that will affect Juju's decision at all? I doubt it (it's not like SC doesn't already have two badass freshman safeties in Cravens and McQuay) but it can't help.

Should have absolutely no impact.

Making his decision on NSD, had previously looked at making it at the Under Armour game.

Greg Biggins reporting that he has eliminated ND and is looking at USC, Oregon, and Alabama. Notre Dame mods still reporting a Notre Dame vs. USC race.

To me, it seems crystal clear he is blowing smoke up our coaches' behinds and will choose USC assuming a good January visit. Realllllly hope I'm wrong.

Yes...I'm totally losing faith in this one.

so Greg Biggins who might have the best connections on the west coast and Gorney both say we are pretty much out.
Sampson and Jake Brown think we are running second.
ISD thinks we are running second.
And Tom Loy thinks we are getting JuJu.

USC is def the favorite, dont get me wrong. But to say ND doesnt have a chance is a bit premature. Kelly still has in-home, and as long as Denbrock and co can keep reminding him why he loved ND, they will be just fine. They just got to win over the mom and thats what Brian Kelly does.

Isn't he still visiting USC in January though? And USC also has their in home. If USC has the lead now I don't see them losing it.

The kids a USC fan, his family is a USC fan, he's from California, and USC is now the favorite. I guess were fine, but he's going to USC barring some unknown recruiting violation or scandal IMO.

I never felt we had a shot with him, but you never know. I like the fact that BK still has his in home. I'd like to see BK use it right before NSD.

Ask Max Redfield what a USC lock Is ... Pipeline USC school. Mom wanted him close, wanted to a prominent figure in his brothers life, no one leaves the area, catches heat for even considering ND, and the family were big USC fans

That was all pre visit to ND. Things were always trending our way after he visited ND. We had all the momentum. Can't say that about JuJu.

Another pressure filled situation for the hometown kid.

It must be ridiculously difficult to get a kid like JuJu to flip...

Any CA players really... especially those who grew up USC fans.

Much respect for the staff that we are even able to get in this process.

He might end up choosing USC, but ND will be in it 'til the end knowing our coaches.
