I'm going to feel stupid if this was already mentioned somewhere, but I have it from an inside source that Nike wants to make us their "Jordan" product of College Football. I.e. huge marketing campaign, yearly unique designs, all of it.
Would be a big mistake to turn down Nike if we leave Adidas IMO.

You better not be f*cking with me.....would be absolutely amazing.
Did we turn them down? Someone on NDnation is saying the same thing.Just relaying what I was told. Doesn't mean it will happen. It's just the pitch Nike is making.

Dude on ndnation made it seem like we turned them down in favor of UA.From what I'm hearing Nike is pitching that idea to ND but UA is looking like the favorite. No idea why...

Well Adidas made a bit of a mess when UM got special status so they can't be surprised. I am cool with either but agree being Nike's "Jordan" brand would be awesome. All the info that came out today was accurate. UA is the favorite and it's down to UA or Nike.
I don't care how much money UA offers, we can't turn down Nike IMO. Superior brand and their willingness to make us their centerpiece is too valuable.
Under Armour would be a step forward compared to Adidas just from a stand point of gear for the fans. Adidas has stepped their game up, but its still not comparable to Nike or UA. The products this year for just the fans lacked a lot. This was the first year I personally didnt buy anything that came out this year. To compare, I walked into a local store called the Buckeye Corner, and its a totally different set of gear Nike has compared to Adidas. Under Armour is coming hard and fast at Nike. I would prefer Nike over UA but in a sense of business and potential, i would choose UA.
Like someone stated, UA doesnt have a school to associate their brand with. Auburn and South Carolina have great programs and great fanbases, but its regional. Nike has Ohio St, Texas, PSU, Bama, and the Florida schools. Add in usc and oregon....there are more than enough schools to think of Nike and College Football. ND would be a huge get for Nike, but they already have schools with a great brand. UA needs ND, and ND needs UA. UA can focus more time and effort directly into ND and get quality products out there for the team and fanbase.
2 things to really consider. UA isnt going to change the uniform anymore than Champion and Adidas have. Will the replace a number on the shoulder instead of a interlocking ND? OH MY GOD. ND is a brand itself. Nike doesnt change their top schools uniforms, minus Oregon. They may bump a jersey from 2 stripes to 3 stripes, or mess with strips on the pants, but the uniform doesnt change. UA didnt get where they are by making decisions like that. Marylands uniforms are crazy and flashy. Maryland football needs attention, they need to be talked about, they need to draw in kids. ND doesnt need that kind of publicity. Will kids possibly think more of ND bc its a UA school over adidas, probably. But its not going to be because of a crazy uniform.
The other part is....who cares what UA Shamrock Series uniforms looks like. Half the fanbase is going to hate them if Nike, Adidas, UA, or Puma did them and the other half will love them. Whatever company that makes the jersey is going to get that reaction. Ryan Grooms is the best in the business and he has a great mind for coming up with ideas that the players/recruits like and still keeping traditions in-tact. He isnt going to fall off the deep end.
New traditions are good. ND isnt competitive in a lot of things brand wise and game experience wise. Changes are coming and they are coming to improve things that have put ND behind the curve.
