You know, his brother does play there. Nothing wrong with a little brotherly support.

The message from the analysts has been consistently one thing for a long time. I don't think that comports with his actions/words. Obviously, I'm working off extremely incomplete info but it does give me the feeling nobody is really sure what he's thinking.

I understand this is not the common sentiment so I made sure to qualify it with "IMO." The decryption of the photo tweet emboldened me to share my view. I certainly don't feel strongly enough about it to argue with anybody. I just have a weird feeling about this one.

Maybe it's just that having a family member at Alabama has made the process of choosing ND awkward for him and that's it. *shrug*

Honestly, I long had some unease in the situation. With all of the delays it seemed to be playing out like our own Da'Shawn Hand. But everyone who knows more than I do has consistently said that he's a lock and/or has basically already been committed for a while. So I'll be pretty darn surprised if he announced for Bama tomorrow over ND.

He's 18. He may commit to Bama or ND today, but then change his mind again 3 more times between now and NSD.

I don't post premium stuff but for everyone up late at night.

Not to be a downer if he picks ND but the one thing Luatua needs is a big boost in motivation. He has all the physical tools to be special but needs to want to be special.

Looks like he tweeted he will announce in the morning.

If only we had a team of professional motivators on staff to assist with his training and development...

There could not be a recruit commit that means less to the class. Not one that ND has an even shot at.

Nick is a diamond in the rough, but rising fast.

I believe Dalton wants to go here.

We have crazy other guys wanting to go here particularly where we need help on defense.

I agree. Sure that Luatua is a good player but i would not spend another scholarship on a TE.

Luatua is a huge boom or bust prospect for me. I will be gutted if Schultz goes to the Farm and becomes a Stud in their offense

I thought Stanford remained in top for Shultz after his visit to ND?

If not, and we jumped them and he was dying to go here, he could have committed.

Not so sure about Shultz. He has a video out on Youtube that shows an incredible understanding and love for Notre Dame. It is actually shocking for any 18 year old. By comparison, his video for his unofficial visit to the Farm is mundane by comparison.

I wouldn't write Dalton off yet. A lot of people think this was what motivated Tyler to move his date up for committing whatever his choice.

I vote we take all three.

Lol at Gorney. The dude hates when West Coasters choose ND.

What is the deal here anyway? Does Luatua walk around on the field? Not run good routes? What is the lack of motivation?

wasn't it at one of the big camps where he was put at WR and kinda sulked it up abit because he dosen't want to play there. Perhaps this is part of the story.

I remember reading that, but is that the only example he's using for his opinion? One bad day and the kid gets a bad rap?

Every year we sign too few. The idea of turning away a talent with the upside of Luatua who loves ND, just because he got some bad reviews in a season where he was injured seems short-sighted, IMO.

And I am all for forcing the coaches to play more 2 TE sets. With all the TEs on the roster, that seem inevitable!

Elam, Juju, and Shultz seem like long shots. Finishing with Luatua, Niles Morgan, Micah Quick, and Hendrix or even a 5th year would be great.

Theory........He dominated in HS and is coasting at the moment. Maybe he has a real competitive motor and simply playing college ball against much better competition is the only motivator he needs.

Additionally, IMO Luatua's the perfect position to be taking at this point in the class He's the definition of big skill, and he seems physically ready to make an impact sooner than later. Take him, worry about position later, and be happy because this seems to be the class where our depth roster-wide is finally getting where it needs to be. Apart from elite guys at any position, I'd take Luatua right now over anything but a DT, because you can never, ever have even close to enough DT's.

Ruining California recruits moments by reporting they've commited before they themselves have announced it always works out in the end. Way to go Loy.

Edit: unless he has, perhaps he can't tweet in school, run to the bathroom and tweet it TL...
