I should also note that I'm fairly certain (but I could be wrong, please correct me if I am) that Texas plays a 4-3 and he was being recruited at DE.

For OLB, he might not fit the ideal size profile but neither does someone like Shembo... there's a lot more flexibility in a linebacker role than strictly in the trenches.

This may be old but wanted to come back it anyways. Texas runs a 4-3 and I understand his height being am issue for a constant 4-3 DE. However, I think this is a classic case of them Fing another recruitment of a quality prospect. Mr. Smythe comes to mind along with their last 3 classes.

I hope we take both Hill and Yeargin.

I also want Sikes and Morgan. Fit the whole team with LBs. TE too.

Yes. All the DE/OLB/TEs. Stanford wins a lot of games with that approach.

And what's this "he's not as big as we thought he was" baloney from Texas? I mean, I'm not complaining if it means he winds up Irish. But what kind of operation is Mack Brown running down there that they don't even know the measurables of in-state kids they're recruiting? Or that they need three-star recruits to walk in and play as freshmen?
Guess that's why they want Saban.

Just tweeted a pic of him in an ND jersey "Photo-shoot in my jersey". Did he commit??? Don't know if we can post pics of recruits anymore (only half sarcastic)

DId you mean Sikes, Hill and Morgan (ILB's) or are you talking about the wr/rb from Florida named Nelson (this weekend's visitors)?

I hope who ever ends up at texas doesn't extend an offer to Hill, I'd love to see him in an Irish uniform.

That's what scares me. If he commits, how solid is he? Does he bail on NSD if the new staff at Texas decides they have room for him in the 11th hour? His previous comments on his visit to Austin certainly infer that it would.

If he commits, I hope the staff makes it clear that they expect him to be also choosing Notre Dame over a possible future offer from Texas. Not just committing to us to hold his spot in the case of Texas never calling.

KH would be a great addition to the D. Time will tell, but it seems pretty tough to snatch a guy who is 50 miles from UT. While Mack is out, the Horns will hire a top notch coach. If nothing else, having a guy like this come in late and to be so impressed with ND is a good sign that staff and ND are on right path with recruits. In the end, it is their decision to make, and one that has lifelong implications.

Dad loved everything about ND as well. He thought about committing and still is but has his visit to Texas Tech scheduled. Texas is still lingering in his mind but he thinks they are full at his position.

Also said he may not take his visit to Tech, but that is the only other one he has planned at this point. January 17th or thereabouts.

This is less than comforting. It wouldn't take much for Texas to NOT be full at his position, especially with a coaching change looming. I dunno, but I just hope the staff does their due diligence here - either have 86 schollies offered come NSD, or have #85 literally waiting by the phone at the 11th hour for a commitable offer.

This has the feel of a guy who goes home, digests, and commits a couple days later.

I get as good of vibes for Kolin Hill as the bad vibes I got for Nelson. There is no doubt that this guy as a three star is a STEAL!

I also agree with Lax and Ironman. This kid is another McGlinchey. Just a matter of time.

Could be committed to ND before then. He told ISD he thought about pulling the trigger a few times this weekend and still could in the near future.

See!

Also, on defense, a position that was empty has Grace and maybe Moore coming back, Deeb (Defensive Scout team player of the year), possibly Hill, Morgan, probably Sikes, and with the real possibility of Hilliard and Cornell! Talk about making weaknesses strengths!

Who is McGlinchey?

68 McGlinchey, Mike - Offensive Line - 6-7.5/290 - FR Philadelphia, PA/William Penn Charter.

Last year I sort of remember he finished his visit at ND and he got back on the road with his dad, as they were headed to Whiskey for a visit, and he just said that his heart was at ND. His dad had him call home. The family talked. Then he called Whiskey and politely cancelled. They turned the car around and headed back to South Bend, where he looked up a rather surprised coaching staff and he committed. Then headed back to Philly.

Corey Robinson works, too. He was at WF on a visit, when he and his dad had "the talk." Polite to the WF folks, he called ND from Carolina and offered his commitment.

Thanks. The name looked vaguely familiar but I just couldn't place it.
