On my phone so sorry if it's been said but Hayes and Deeb have good/positive tweets. Hopefully they can spread that trend.

Also cooks to take over since he was co D coordinator to begin with?

I'm more saddened by the banning of IrishPat183 and 184 than Diaco leaving.

Message for Diaco: Do you understand that the world does not revolve around you and your do whatever it takes, ruin as many people's lives, so long as you can make a name for yourself as an football coach, no matter how many fans you lose or players you leave dead and bloodied along the way, just so long so you can make a name for yourself as an football coach, no matter how many fans or players you leave dead and bloodied and dying along the way?

As a student at Uconn I hope he does well although I wish he stayed at ND for a potential better job. Uconn's problem this year wasn't their defense, their offense couldn't move the ball and couldn't protect the quarterback. He is going to need a great staff to fix those problems. Hopefully I get to see him around campus one day

How can anyone even be somewhat surprised by this? He had "HC" written all over him. Mayock said this multiple time through the 2012 and 2013 season. We dodged a bullet last year with him coming back.

He was average at best at calling plays this year. Didn't disguise blitzes at all and I'm pretty sure I could count all of the turnovers the defense had on one hand.

And about the commits and other recruits, if they decommit because of Diaco then they didn't belong at Notre Dame in the first place.

Give me a DC that knows how to disguise a blitz

Am I the only one who doesn't think this is such a bad thing? I wouldn't go so far as to say Diaco was overrated, but I certainly don't think he is irreplaceable like Kelly is. Losing Martin and Diaco in the same season SUCKS, but they are both much less important than keeping Kelly. My ONLY concern about Diaco is the recruiting impact, mainly Morgan since that would have been his position coach. Other than that, I don't see this as "program changing" and I highly doubt this affect's Tuitt's decision.

I will go so far as to say Diaco was overrated. The defense had some serious struggles this year with a lot of talent. 41 points to Michigan, 24 points to Purdue, 35 to Oklahoma, 28 to Pitt. All of those were above their season average. That also doesn't mention 34 to Navy and 34 to ASU, which are both a lot of points. The defense had some high points like the 2nd half of the USC game, but the defense underperformed this year. Hopefully the new DC will be a 4-3 guy.

Sucks losing 2 coordinators in one year and too add more drama to the 2013 calendar year. People inside the program saw this coming when Martin left. Diaco was a great coach and a players coach from the reactions but he did not take steps forward. I was happy with the defense until the Navy game. ND has players for an aggressive D, and thats not what Diaco coached. He knows more than I, but at the sametime, progression needs to take place.

ND having two coordinators go take HC jobs is great. It means the program is doing what its supposed to do. When was the last time a Coordinator took a job as a head coach at ND? It sucks, but dont think there isnt a plan in place. Kelly taking over Morgans recruitment is telling.

Kelly is making ND appealing for up and coming coordinators and coaches. Quinn/Martin/Diaco and Molnar all head coaches under him. Kellys starting his own coaching tree and it will only continue.

Not a shot at Diaco by any means...but what is he most known for? A 4am trip to Brooklyn. He secured Ishaqs commitment, but whats the most popular comment about Ishaq? Not living up to potential. Who is his position coach? Diaco has done a lot of good, but there are also a lot of puzzling things. Great guy and only wish him the best, bc he does have leadership qualities.

Think BIG picture. It really is putting Kelly in great spots for himself and for ND. The program is in great shape reguardless of what has happened in two weeks. Coordinators are there to become head coaches. Players are there to get to the league for the most part. Degrees are important and help them in life, but lets not kid ourselves....they come to ND to get to the league.

Go Irish.

Everything is not going to be puppies and sunshine and rainbows and delicious foods.

But everything is also not going to be Lane Kiffin.

Chances are, the program will be okay and everything will even out right in the middle. Like the great man Louis Nix III once said, "#BKGotThis."

I wonder why Narduzzi said no. I wonder if it is "no to UConn" or just "no to everyone right now."

That's what I'm saying. Outside of the Ishaq recruitment, I rarely see any recruits raving about Diaco. It's always Kelly, Alford, and Denbrock.

Diaco had great talent and gave up 40 to Michigan, couldn't stop Navy, and it apparently takes a master's degree to figure out his defense.

I'm over it.

The coaches have TWO months to convince recruits to come here because we are ND. That's plenty of time for Kelly to right the ship.

Spot on!!!!

So, Cooks is from the Iowa tree with Diaco - you'd think if he's not promoted to a better position soon that he'll get an offer from Bob, no?
