I've hated UCONN since 2009. The only game I've seen at ND Stadium was the '09 game vs UCONN. What a crazy game.

I was first row in the corner of the endzone behind the UConn band for that game. I thought ND fans were going to riot when Tim McCarthy started to give his message in the fourth quarter and the UConn band started playing their fight song at the same time.

It especially sucked getting beat by Zach Frazier. And that game was the epitome of Weis' playcalling: Fade to Tate, fade to Floyd, repeat.

Go to SI.com and read the article. Sounds like there is a big mess with the governor, UT Board of Regents and the President.

Sounds like Texas is trying to do what PSU should've done with Joe Pa... anticipate the decline, dump the coach before he becomes defunct.

Sure. But Saban is a football guy through and through. So is Snyder. I think Saban will coach until he's physically unable to. And he'd win 3-4 national titles in a 10 year contract at a place like Texas.

And yet in the next ten years he could win 5-6 titles at Bama - especially with a playoff system in place now. The only difference right now is the contracts. Texas is offering $10 mil and Bama has a $7 mil extension sitting on his desk.

It won't be the money that takes him to Texas if he decides to go. It will be his ego that takes him. My money is still on him staying at Bama for one simple reason. He has total control of the program and rules with an iron fist. He won't have that at Texas as the big donor boosters run the program. And the expectations at Texas will be no different than at Bama. The millionaires expect him to win day one and anything less than a BCS championship would be unacceptable. Nick stays put at the end of the day.

And I bet Briles is still asking himself why he just signed a multi-year extension at Baylor. Texas should pick up the phone and call Shaw. He would be my next choice. And he would be $5 mil cheaper than Saban.

Just heard on the radio, that Saban hasn't acknowledged or read the extension being offered and that it was presented to him a couple of weeks ago. I understand he's on the road recruiting, but why not at least acknowledge the offer to the administration?

I agree the man has a huge ego, but given his track record UT and the fans will give him a couple of years to get up to speed. I also think he'll be able to maintain control even with the billionaire boosters. It's hard to argue against a coach and his program when you've accomplished what he has. And remember, one thing most people agree on is that Saban is a silver tongue devil. lol

The problem with all these older coaches is the new AD's come in and want to make this about them not the university. The way this is going down is terrible for Mack Brown. Someone that's poured his heart and soul into the program and get this. It is a shame. The AD's are just like politicians it is about one thing look what "I" did.

I may be a bit bias but I do believe Jack has the best interest for all of Notre Dame sports.

So Mack Brown is stepping down as soon as Friday most likely, and Saban has an unsigned contract extension sitting on his desk.......

Both coaches are out recruiting for their respective schools......

Tell us something we don't know. He left Michigan St because Michigans ego was too big. He left LSU because he thought he could deal with the NFL etc etc.

I agree with what you saying, but it's a completely different climate these days. The days of AD's that were ex-jocks is over. Collegiate sports is estimated to be between a $6-$8 billion dollar business today. AD's are hired for their business experience and savvy. The AD's job can be on the line if one of his moneymaker programs isn't winning and when push comes to shove, I'll pick my job over one of my direct reports jobs anytime.

I've always liked Mack Brown, but I also wonder if he just won't acknowledge that his program has slipped over the last few years and refuses to make some changes and thus the reason this has all started?

“@schadjoe: Bryan Harsin will be the next Boise State head coach”

Two straight Arkansas State coaches to be there for one year before leaving

the hire makes alot of sense, Harsin had been there for 10 years previously and probably will bring back the trickeration on offense that Boise has sadly gotten away from in recent years.

I don't think Saban is leaving 'Bama. When you look at what he's built there, and the control he has, he arguably would not have the same perks at Texas. He would have more money unquestionably, but I don't think Saban is that worried about money at this point.

Brown getting ousted has been simmering for some time. Texas fans have been restless the last few years with the way the defense has under performed, and the offense has struggled at times. Unless they think or know that they have a Saban deal wrapped up, I'm surprised they didn't take Brown out about the time USC fired Kiffin. If they announce Brown's "retirement" now, they're behind a lot of other teams that have already been in the coaching search and have hired candidates. Of course, if there was any team that can make up the time quickly, it's Texa$.

Considering ND plays L'ville next year, I was really hoping Strong's name would be mentioned more.

I think he'd be a great fall back option for Texas if the Saban rumors are false and Shaw/Briles want to stay put. I'd personally rank Strong>Briles but I could see why Texas ppl would be giddy for Art.

Saban's rumored poor asset management and investments disagree with you. ;)

He may need more money than he has at this point.

The man's been offered a 1.5 M raise basically with no strings attached and he's ignored it for the past 6 days. Does that sound like he's staying?

What if he is waiting to sign it until he gets back to town from recruiting?

Or he is waiting to get a formal Texas offer and leverage that for an even better offer from Bama (if it's possible for them to pay more).

LSU fans tracking private flights

LSU fans tracking private flights

Creepy as hell, but you are legally required to file flight plans. LSU fans have tracked TONS of activity that looks a hell of a lot like Saban, UT, and UA bigwigs doing business.

Also, pics of Mack Brown speaking to the Bama AD last night...

Saban to Texas Flight Tracking - Crimson Silence 2013 UPDATED 9:00AM @ TigerDroppings.com

This is some hot ****, not sure how reliable it is though
