He will probably never leave Okie State.

This. He would have to be forced out IMO. It's his alma mater. He has access to T. Boone Pickens' money (even if Pickens isn't a big fan.) He has also made OK St relevant and a consistent winner in the Big XII. To be honest, I can't see him making much of a move anywhere that would climb the ladder. All moves would be a step down or lateral.

Did not know he was an alum. I'm not saying he'll leave, I'm just interested more programs haven't reached out. He seems like a good coach IMO.

On a related note, the Ok st. vs. OK game is a really good one right now.

When Diaco does leave(this year or down the road) I would expect him to take at least 2 coaches on the staff with him.

Feldman reporting Craig Bohl to Wyoming. Interesting timing as NDSU is in the middle of a playoff run for an FCS 3-peat.

Please stop with the Ed Orgeron butt lovin.

Why? He's a legitimate candidate for a major conference head job. Not many of those guys sitting around out there waiting for a phone call. I don't know that he'd be a good fit as our DC, though.

Agreed, he's not a good ND fit. I'd have three concerns with him:

First and foremost, can he live and abide by the standards of this University?

Second, how much x's and o's experience does he actually have? Can he coordinate a defense effectively or is he just a great Dline and motivational coach?

Third, can we maintain stability and recruiting on D knowing he'll leave as soon as he gets a good offer? he's actively looking for a head coaching job right now.

Speaking of shady recruiting specialists, what's Trooper Taylor up to these days?

He took the year off from college coaching and helped out with his son's high school team in Auburn:

Trooper Taylor goes from Auburn University to Auburn High School - MaxWire National Blog - MaxPreps

His son is a senior and a two-star/low three-star D-I prospect.

My guess is that he was just radioactive and no staff wanted to touch him, with the buzz about recruiting violations surrounding him. Maybe after the year off someone will take a chance on him.

I wonder if Tosh will suffer the same fate.

He didn't take a year off to help his son. No one offered.

According to Horns247 the list of candidates for the HC job is as followed

1. Nick Saban
2. Jim Harbaugh
3. Jimbo Fisher

Then there is a second tier of names which includes Les Miles and Gus Malzahn. They are extremely confident that they get Saban. Not sure where these guys get there info but I thought I'd share.

And yet the one most likely to take the job is not even on the list. Briles is waiting on the call. That Texas ego is as big as the holes in their defense. Out of the three mentioned, Fisher is the only one I can see that would even consider it at this point.

Why would you go from Alabama to Texas? It's a lateral move. With all the great program foundations and recruiting he has built at Alabama, the move makes no sense. It would have to be a heck of a lot more money and benefits.

Agreed, they are pretty delusional about this. They even mentioned that the timing might be a little rough for a guy like harbaugh because he may be in the middle of the playoffs. I literally spit water out of my mouth when I read that. To think Harbaugh would go from a successful NFL career to coach at Texas is absurd.

Money does talk. When was the last time a successful NFL coach left to coach college ball? Anyway, it will play out and the powers to be at UT will make a hard run at their candidates. We shall see.

Texas would be best off going after David Shaw with $5mil/year and calling it a day. Seriously.

Texas people I know are all thoroughly convinced that it's a done deal with Saban. Either they're all getting crap info and BS from their "sources," or it's going to happen. I'm not sure which side of the fence I fall on.

I'll go with never, haha. It will be interesting to see how much money they are willing to throw at it. I agree Lax, Shaw would be a solid hire.
