hahaha you people really think he didn't think about this before he committed to ND. Now Mizzou beats A&M and he is covering his butt and heading back

By coincidence, Pat now thinks he is still just a lowly 3:s:

On a serious note, I really hope he isn't just covering he ass here. I think he is going to be a very nice ball player

I think he might be. With the retweets, last two follows and his original tweet, in all likelyhood he probably had/is having second thoughts.

I am through and through but I've followed recruiting long enough to believe that every kid's negative tweet is not about recruiting. Kids have lives too.

Odd pattern tweeting what he did, retweeting pro-Mizzou stuff, and following who he just followed... then saying it was all about a Christmas present. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Would watching Missouri make a run to the SEC championship game and ND lose to Stanford really cause him to flake so quickly? I'm not sure. Twitter over-analysis is always dangerous but I'm a bit skeptical.

Poor Pat... Jhonny at least has the athletic profile to compare to Mario Williams even if he is incredibly raw... just picked his troll spot too early.

Premature.

I'll give you the last part but I had a feeling since he flipped to us. He could be great and like I said, love having him as of now. That feeling isn't going anywhere as far as the GK 2.0 or me thinking he is flaky.

Some of my best friends are flaky. I have a different approach for them than others is all. Hope he sticks and hope he makes the most of his college career. In the end, it's all about what is best for the recruit.

Just for fun and so everyone is caught up, here are some tweets since "clarifying" that the earlier tweet was about a supposed Christmas gift:

His last two follows were the DL coach at Missouri and a Missouri tweeter.

The optimist in me says he's just having some fun and trolling a bit. The skeptic in me says he talked to the Missouri DL coach and started having second thoughts... or just started having second thoughts on his own. Either way, that's not what you like to see from a "commit" but hopefully he signs on the dotted line in 2 months.

I do find it humorous that Missouri fans are Tweeting him that Missouri gets you info the NFL. Yup, cause we don't have twice as many NFL players than they do  Also, last year Missouri went 5-7, getting destroyed by every SEC team that wasn't Kentucky or Tennessee while we went 12-0. The future is bright for us next season, provided we don't have such a horrible loss of defensive players to injury. I'm betting that we have a better record than Missouri next season.

I don't know what the kid is thinking one way or another. However, if he would flip because his chosen #25 team lost by a touchdown to a top 10 team on the road then, I'm not sure we would want the drama anyway.

He retweeted some pro ND stuff too. Still doesn't seem like he has his mind fully made up though.

FWIW, Mizzou did have a defensive lineman drafted in the top 20 (as likely will we this year, I know). But yeah, he's RT'ing some clown talking about how Notre Dame's cool and all but SEC! Like the rest of the SEC gives a rat's about Mizzou.

Whatever.

It's pretty absurd that these maroons are talking about the SEC putting guys in the league as if the SEC has a desk with the NFL. It's laughable to think that Mizzou somehow got better overnight the day they entered the SEC. If anything, Mizzou's current success only confirms my belief that the SEC's reputation is largely inflated due to Alabama's recent success.

You're right. Yesterday an the local sports talk, the debate was on how good is Ohio State because of their schedule. The second host points out that FSU's schedule was weaker than OSU's. Then they bring Auburn and Mizzou into the picture and one host starts the SEC crap. He goes on to say that in his opinion Ol Miss and Miss St. would place in the top three or four in the B1G. Now the top teams in the SEC are better than the top teams in the B1G, but as was pointed out, the SEC benefits from half the teams being ranked at the start of the year. Then they don't get penalized as much because when they lose it's to a ranked team from their own conference. And what happened to the great defenses of the SEC? Everybody puts up 30+ points every game.
