Kelly needs to only accept/give out offers to kids that can make the grade.


I'm not an expert on how this works..but that would be the logcial thing to do. Saves face and wasting time on recruits that can't get in.

Just because there's a chance that McKenzie doesn't get the required ACT score, we shouldn't offer until he does?

What if we always did that with kids who wouldn't know until late in their senior year? We'd never have a chance with the 50/50 kids because you can't offer that late and expect to be a major player in his recruitment.

I'd rather recruit the Starks/Mckenzie/AQM's and find out late that they cannot come, than not offer them and have no shot because we didn't offer until 2 months before they have to decide.

Pretty sure his point was that you can't sign a kid you don't pursue. Some borderline kids can be difference makers, thus they are worth the pursuit.
