I did not say desperation but this is result of other kids saying no. I mean, i'm sure he is a very good football player but he is not a natural inside linebacker, he is a low-ranked prospect and his offers are good but not great. I like his tape more as some four star recruits but i trust the rankings more than my opinion.

I like his tape more as some four star recruits but i trust the rankings more than my opinion.

Its just a flawed statement. We send out a lot of offers and a majority of those kids say no. So, why would we be bummed by filling a roster spot with a high quality kid and player? Nobody lands the guy at the top of board at each position, thats reality.

Yeah and you're right but when the plan is recruit as an ILB a tree star (four to 247sports) safety/OLB who is committed to Purdue (no offense), something is not going as planned. And that's because the staff was nearly to have a strike out with that position.

Martini is a ILB so we were never going to strike out. Again, you don't offer a prospect in August because you are on the verge of "striking out". Not sure how else to say it. Is he the top prospect on the board, no but he's also not some bum we are grabbing because we have to. Also like Brian31 said he's had a very good senior year.

Anyone have any Purdue forum meltdown material? I tried checking some boards this afternoon, but they were either pay boards or you had to sign up. I'm not that motivated to enjoy their misery.
