In the NFL's study a few years ago, it found that ACL trauma occurs 88% more often on FieldTurf than on grass.

That's the main reason I don't want a change.

the league has more field turf than grass fields so stats are skewed

All of the schools with turf in my area had pure fieldturf. The 100% fake stuff. And I loved it more than anything but one: Bermuda grass. Two fields we played on had Bermuda grass, and it felt like you were falling into a pile of soft, cuddly puppies every time you hit the ground. It was magnificent.

Having said all that, it's ridiculous to argue over what the field is. BK wants turf, the players want turf. End of story. No one else matters in that decision, except for the boosters willing to foot the bill.

Not being a smart@ss, Eric, but I think he's simply basing that off your post where you alluded to the turf being field turf, and not the hybrid.

Not exactly.

That's just my opinion. There's no evidence that:

A) They've made a decision either way

B) They haven't explored all options for a new or improved surface

I don't think it's possible to incur more injuries than we already have this year, so I'll take my chances with FieldTurf

That's not necessarily true. I've sold a artificial turf business before and the name fieldturf has largely been genericized to describe all artificial turf.

It may very well be actual FieldTurf, but I wouldn't assume so.

So if you've sold such a business, you must have knowledge of the industry and/or contacts. Wtf are you waiting for, get your *** on the phone and make some calls. We want confirmation, a date, a brand, and a cost. Thanks.

I believe I have covered this, so forgive me if i repeat myself...

I want them to go off the rails obnoxious with it... knock out a section of stands and put a giant Jesus statue, like one from Dogma, holding up the Jumbo Tron… that just happens to be the biggest in cfb… and above the Screen have in obscenely bright glowing lights “The University of College Football in American… Bitches… We won the War.”

When I picture it in my head, it’s glorious.

It would be pretty sweet if the backside of that addition in the front, the wall facing Touchdown Jesus, had a couple smallish video boards. Nothing outrageous, but still useful and updated.

Also, my God NDNation would have a literal and terrible meltdown if there was turf AND a midfield logo. Across might actually off himself.

I'll only be upset if they change endzone design.

Also this at midfield wouldn't be bad:

I'm in for some **** like this. I'd even like it if they removed the endzone section, or top portion, on the Touchdown Jesus side to let it overlook the field.

I'm for field turf, but against the midfield logo.

Other than that, bring on the changes!

I'm down with turf, jumbotron, stadium additions, and I do like the look of that midfield logo.

But leave those endzones alone.

Why not just put the world's largest video screen on top of the library? Keep the stadium as is, but allow for replays of close plays, so people can see why the call went the way it did, and great plays, to keep the crowd fired up.

Why not just turn Touchdown Jesus into a video screen? He looks normal all week, but can become a transparent video screen on gameday.

Kind of like those wall mounts that look like fireplaces but can show slideshows. Except with Jesus.

Why have we become pussified about playing on grass? So it gets torn up. Who said it has to be perfect? That's where your home-field advantage comes into play. I won't cry if we go to some type of artificial turf, but if we're going that route, let's one up Boise St. and make it blue and gold turf.

As far as leg injuries being greater on artificial turf, that's true. I'm not sure, but I think the percentage has decreased with the refinement of turf over the last 8-10 years.

FWIW tonight I heard from a reliable source that the decision on surface hasn't been made yet
