Look- Devaris is a redshirt soph and if he keeps his progress this year he could go to the NFL after this season. Remember at ND's combine last year he would have tested in the middle of the pack for NFL guys coming out. All that said I hope he comes back because he and Golson are good friends and work out together a lot, and in case you didn't notice last year DD was Golson's go to guy. Tommy's was Eifert. So I would expect a monster year from DD next year an quite possibly this year. He is extremely difficult to cover by speed alone and can out jump almost anyone with a 40 inch vertical. I would say sure fire NFL if not injured. The question is this year vs next year and I bet he and Everett Golson blow things up next year in a great way through the air.

I don't remember anything specific. I think its been a season long lower body injury he's been dealing with. He doesn't seem as explosive.

Kelly's reaction when asked about Davaris at about 3:10 or 3:15 of this video really says it all. Maddening inconsistency. One play he looks as good as they come; the next he looks totally out of sync with the rest of the offense.

He seems like the Cierre Wood of this class.

Not a huge problem, by any stretch, but creates enough drama and seems distracted enough that he gets in the way of his own development. I think he is a 5-star receiver if he just got focused.

Remember, he is and was clearly Golsons favorite target. After a spring and summer re-connecting in informal workouts my guess is DD is going to have a monster year. Golson can buy so much more time than Tommy with a way stronger arm. DD in my opinion is just set to breakout big time as a huge beneficiary of Golsons return.

In addition, it is sort of like his" contract" year for the pros. Couple that with my above post and it will be lights out if both stay healthy. He is a handful for anybody to cover.

Yeah, it's funny because it seemed like DD and Golson were always on the same page, whereas DD and Tommy were mostly NOT on the same page. I'm really looking forward to having Golson back not just because he is generally an upgrade at QB but also because I think we will get a lot more out of DD next year.

how could all of us not be excited about next year? we have a stable of RB's a major upgrade at QB (arm strength, mobility) a huge Oline, WR's ready to break out, and a defense that will/should be improved. the potential loss of nix and tuitt is huge but we should be able to score at an accelrated rate so it wont have to be lockdown all the time. im more excited than most and maybe blindly so but fuck it.

I am not sure if it was TOmmy throwing to where the receiver was supposed to be, and Golson throwing to where he actually was, but Golson and DD did have some big plays, whereas DD and TR were often on different pages.

EG would scramble around and just make things happen. Since the plays lasted longer that the WRs' routes, it didn't matter that DD was running sloppy.

DD is, beyond a doubt, a great athlete. Good luck covering him once a play breaks down!

Was posted on ISD, no one with anything to back it up. Timing would make little to no sense. If it was semester grades, he would've been in eligible before the bowl game. What site did it originate on?

Also, this is the second time something like this has come up and he has been on shaky ground for awhile. There were rumors he was out when Golson got dismissed.
