Does anyone know, or has it been addressed, if the team will travel to CO a day earlier than most road trips? With fall break this week it would seem worthwhile to get out there a day early to adjust to the altitude.
I'll hang up and listen.

See, I watched the press conference and that is NOT what Kelly said. No wonder why so many people claim to have problems with the guy.

What he said was he would like bigger, faster, and stronger for the position. But he would take Schmidt any day because he doesn't get you beat. And Kelly called him a good team mate. Which I believe is the second best thing Kelly can say about a player.

Yeah, I agree, it's a little misleading when you see that out of context. Kelly was trying to say that Schmidt isn't the prototypical ILB for his system from a physical standpoint, but he is a smart football player who manages to be in the right place at the right time. He was talking about what a good football player Schmidt is. It was a great compliment; out of context the tweet almost looks like he was criticizing him.

I hope he plays better because he really can not play any worse than he did.

But I am with BK I think he will play better maybe because it's Air Force but either way better is better. (If he starts or plays significant time)

I was particularly impressed with today's press conference. I was also impressed with the strategy behind it.

Louis Nix - Kelly mentioned sending tape to the officials related to the targeting against Lou. I mentioned it in the SC thread. One guy would grab his pads and hold him and the other guy would use a fist, forearm, or helmet to do damage to his back, ribs, or shoulder. Way to go Coach Kelly. From the stands, it was clear, the refs ignored it. I hope they get called to the carpet.

I also felt that Kelly, when he deferred to make pronouncements on why the d-line got off to a slower start, was thinking of the double teams and holds that started the season.

EDITORIAL: I believe that ND is one team that never gets a fair break on calls. [I think pro ND refs have character and are evenhanded to a fault, but I think there are some refs that love to see ND pay, and will ignore calls, or make bad calls.]

Announcing because of this sore shoulder that Louis has, he may not see as many reps as other players is brilliant. You do not want Louis in against a team that chops, can you imagine losing him for the season? Let alone sucking wind at the high altitudes? No, you want Romeo, Jarron, Ishaq, Isaac, Kona, in and Stephon and Louis in minimally!

I hope this is a game to play the younger guys!

This training will come in handy when he's checking for ID cards and cleared weapons at the chow hall.

The schedule for a cadet at any of the academies is rigorous without football. So you really have to give the football players that much more respect.

I pay particular attention too ball spots every game, and by the end of the 1st quarter, I usually give up arguing or pointing it out to other people. Maybe officials are equally bad, but last game there were numerous times where the refs would give a +1 yard spot against ND. It's makes a bigger difference than people would realize.

Tuitt remember is very good against option, there were some old articles about it because he saw a lot of option in high school.

That may be true but USC fans need to use some of that money they have left over from paying off players to buy themselves a ladder and get over it. We lost because of a questionable call in 05 and ND haters/USC fans just said "they let the kids play and we won" so they can just learn to live with....sorry had to get that off my chest.
