What is the "uniform surprise"?

Something I know has probably been discussed but I don't know where is the fact ND wore white on white. Something I have never seen.

I just wonder if this now opens the door for more experimentation with uniform combinations a la Oregon.

Although not a popular topic among many fans but I could picture ND coming out for a home night game wearing all black. I personally think that would be slick. Kind of how the basketball team does it.

This would be a stretch considering ND has zero black in their color scheme but none the less a possibility.

Or even gold on gold, which I know has been worn but I think it could look better than it did the last time.

Or even a bigger stretch green on green with gold stripe pants.

Sorry was just sitting around with my daughter, as my wife does some running around, and I was showing her ND stuff and different thoughts were running through my head.

Although I don't think anything is sticking yet considering she is only a month old. None the less she stares at all the highlight videos like she really knows what is going on. Makes me feel good anyway.

She's probably watching them and thinking "Damn it Tommy, Koyac was wide open down the middle."

Anybody know if the crowd is supposed to wear a certain color? I'd love to see a green out

I'm with ya. I love the way they look, but the results that are stuck in my head from when we wear them are not good.

I get the gesture but who isn't "aware" of breast cancer? Wouldn't the uniform money be better spent as a donation to cancer research?

Lots of people. Particularly young people and those who can't afford or don't have access to health care.

I think he meant the Breast cancer awareness month concept in the NFl is a scam. Lots of articles written about it on the web but the gist of it is that money raised from the campaign dosen't actually go to funding of scientific research.

The NFL's Campaign Against Breast Cancer Is a Total Scam

The NFL is the biggest sport in our country with tons of exposure. The publicity created by this is enormous. I am also not surprised as they had to be dragged kicking and screaming into determining the brain damage caused by the sport. If a person is so easily separated from their money they may want to reconsider and actually donate to the research themselves. Awareness is not a bad thing.

Ever known anyone with breast cancer?

Yes actually I have. It's still a sham. Especially the NFL. It's a gimmick to get women to buy NFL products (a market the NFL has become more and more desperate to get into) and only $3.75 of every $100 dollars sold actually goes towards doing any sort of research. The rest goes towards rich guys who are laughing all the way to the bank. I don't see why saying that means that I'm "siding" with cancer.

From the quote I saw you said "all of breast cancer awareness month" which I did not limit to just the NFL. My apologies. I don't think everyone else involved in promoting awareness is scamming, particularly myself, who devotes a great deal of time to the matter.

Uncle on the pink. I get it and support the awareness but stop with the uniform nonsense, please.

I don't mind the uniform changes for other non traditional programs, and its become their 'thing.' But I'm sorry that is just ugly.

Agreed. It's a cool gesture and all, but it needs to match the J... actually like the helmet generally speaking.

I think pink jerseys done right could look awesome. It looks like the oregon thing was a last minute decision or something. Like they said, "hey wait, lets just make our helmets and socks pink, and call it a day." The jersey and pants look the same as they usually do (if you can say that about Oregon).

I remember a story on College Gameday a couple years ago that said a player could play their 4 year career at Oregon and never wear the same helmet/jersey/pant combination.

I'm sure some other high schools have worn pink jerseys, but the only one I've seen (or can remember) is St. Xavier in Cincinnati and they looked pretty cool, IMO. If you google "St. X Cincinnati pink jerseys" they will come up.

there is a university in the UK called Notthingham Trent and their colours are Pink and Black. Their football team plays in all neon pink with black lids and it looks amazing haha
