Seems like it would suck. Seriously. There won't be a single good seat in the house. The closest seat will be about 75 yards away from the field.

No it won't suck, seats basically go straight up, I honestly don't see it being any different from any college stadium, could be better then some

But the closest seat will be 50 yards from the sidelines.

How?

I know exactly how the stands are set up to view the track. Now realize how small the field is and how you would put it in the infield. The edge of the field is MUCH further away than a typical stadium.... if you have an endzone seat and the play is in the opposite endzone you're going to be at closest 250ish yards away from the play. That's garbage.

Similarly, on the sideline, your front row seats are about as far away as "nosebleeds" in most stadiums without the benefit of a good viewing angle from the ground. Your upper bowl seats will probably be your best bet, but at that they'll be worse than your worst nosebleeds.

Source for measurements: Google maps and a scale.

Ok i am being a bit sarcastic but you will have the width of the track plus the wall and the then to the stands.

Idk. I've been there and i don't think it will suck. To each their own i guess

50 yards? No not even close

Go measure it. The approximate dimensions of a 120 yards by 53.3 yards. Pull up Google maps and plop that in the middle of the infield. Then take a scale and measure from the sideline to the first row of seats.

I used Google Earth and got ~75 yards from the side of the field to the wall. Yikes.

Of all Nascar tracks Bristol or Martinsville are really the only two that could be done, and even then, as people are saying, it would be less than ideal. Good conceot, just not practical IMO.

Regardless of the dimensions/distance, I would be down to go to something like that just for the experience lol.

I would definitely pack binoculars though.

In 1961 The Philadelphia Eagles played the Washington Native Americans in an NFL preseason game at Bristol.

But in 2007, Bristol erected a monster pylon scoreboard ... in the center of the infield.

I suppose you can remove the scoreboard but then there's that big concrete foundation that has to covered under enough dirt to prevent injury.

Then the drainage.

But, if you're going to spend $20 million on each team, what's a few million more for site improvements.

The first thing I thought of was how pissed scUM is going to be when they lose their title of largest single game attendance for a game. hahaha

I went to the Sweet 16 at Lucas Oil Stadium and it was horrendous. Keep sports in the venues in which they belong. Except for Notre Dame at Fenway, which I must see before I die.

Fenway is too small for football, look at what happened at Wrigley
