USC is going to need a helluva lot more time than that. Recruiting restrictions are hurting them and that doesn't end for another year. More pain ahead for them until things get better.

That's not really how recruits often think, as history has shown. A great coaching hire looks like a white knight swooping in to save the day, and recruits can buy that big time.

USC had only two scholarship receivers available to them at the end of the ASU game. If playing time is a factor, and I assume it plays somewhat of a role, USC should be an attractive option for JuJu and other WRs currently considering the Trojans.

A new coach also provides some assurance that a recruit will play for the same HC his entire college career. Of course it's not guaranteed or always the case, but if that's important to a recruit (it is to many...not sure about JuJu), a new hire is always attractive.

Loy posted on the BGI board that he spoke with a friend of his out west (grew up in Cali) and the friend said that if today was NSD he is confident he would choose ND. Personally this sounds like a stretch but apparenty religion and academics are that important. I'm gonna let this play out before I get my hopes up.

I've been quietly confident about Juju for awhile now, but I swear if this comes down to a 3 team race and his biggest thing is the "Christian life on campus" and he picks Bama over us...

Right, religion and academics. Three hats on table and JuJu picks the crimson tide, haha.

Not feeling as confident as Loy is lol. Still too far to go and JuJu hasnt even been on campus. He may love it or hate it.

I think as long as usc hired ANYONE but Sark, ND will have a chance here and in the future with Cali kids. If Sark is hired, good luck trying to get some of the top kids to leave Cali.

Agreed, I hope U$C hires Del Rio, anyone as long as it is NOT Sarkisian. Tosh Lupoi, Ed Oregeron, and Sarkisian would dominate California recruiting.

When I first heard Sarks name mentioned this is who I thought of and basically shat myself. Look what he was doing at UCLA, imagine what he'd do at USC.

-Five-star athlete John ‘JuJu’ Smith of Long Beach (Calif.) Poly took his first official visit, to Ohio State, this past weekend. He’ll head to Notre Dame and Oregon in October and then go to Alabama and Michigan in November. Smith, who prefers playing wide receiver, could make his decision in early January at an All-American game. Smith told 247Sports that he will base his decision on most of all the Christian life on campus as well as academics and the program’s tradition. Notre Dame, along with Alabama, are the front-runners going into the official visits according to sources.

FIFY. I'm assuming 247 had the error when you looked...

If we could get this kid, McKenzie, Luatua and Quick that would be a nice way to finish off the skill position players. That and then land some ILB'S

Currently I don't but in the future I do. Meaning that dumpster fire has to be very unattractive right now but with a new hire and the potential of what could be might make it hard to turn down.

I think the dumpster fire is over. Lane is gone.

Per Ryan Bartow with 247 JuJu's final 5. ND, Alabama, OSU, Oregon, and Michigan. Said what he liked about each school. Once again said that academics, very strong tradition, and christian life on campus will the be most important factors. I'm not going to write what he says about each team but he does say this about ND "I feel like I can improve within the church as a Christian and improve my life with God." These updates are hard not to get excited about.

I'm hard getting excited about it. Would be such a perfect fit.

Obviously a great update. My biggest concern with his recruitment is the position he wants to play matching up with the position we want him to play. It's been said before that he wants to play WR and we want him as a Safety. If that gets figured out (or has already been figured out), then our chances are really good.
