Nice. Cam's my back, I'd like to see him get the start or more carries early. "It's gut-check time. Everybody knows whats coming. The fans know whats coming, the offense knows whats coming, the defense knows whats coming. It's just who wants it more at that point."

Really like this kid. He credits his offensive line too, and as a former big man you always respect the RB's that give you credit like this.

I love the way he plays. But people need to slow down with the "make him the clear #1". He, GAIII, and Amir all have different strengths and need to be put in the correct position. Running Amir right into the teeth of the defense is not helping anybody - he's tough but not that type of back. All 3 of them have shown how they can help - the coaches need to have the right plays for them.

Amir and GA III can't run between the tackles. Like...not at all, from what I've seen. Thats a bit of a liability. When they get into space, good things can happen. However, when they try to run them up the middle they just seem to get stopped wherever the collision occurs. Cam, on the other hand, will meet the defense and tends to fall forward for a few yards at the least, if not find a hole and pickup more yards. He's the most consistent guy we have, and the best all around RB that can block, run between the tackles (or outside), and take care of the football. He can also rip sure interceptions out of a defensive players hands, as we saw at Purdue.

I just don't like that it's becoming too obvious to the defense which type of play is going to be run each time we rotate one of these guys in. That's what the other team is working on all week long. Not only our down and distance tendencies but also our personnel tendencies.

Seriously? From what I remember he was running well between the tackles. Hell IIRC Kelly even stated as much in a PC.

I saw that during the game and was quite surprised. He was probably filling in for Hardy or Moore.

Hardy and Hunter Jr. according to the ND roster.

yeah GB was lined up at L1 so possibly replacing Moore, who was suspended right?

Eh, I haven't seen it. Amir seems to do well when he gets out in space, he's not breaking tackles or falling forward like Cam tends to do. Granted, as far as yesterday, nobody really ran the ball great, but that's going to happen when you go against a team like MSU that will load up the box to stop the run. Cam came up big on the final 1st down though, that run was huge. His 7 yard TD came at a great time too, allowing us to capitalize on Sparty's turnover. Not a great day running the ball yesterday, but a couple big plays from Cam allowed us to seal the game.

I was going to go with slow, un athletic, small, short and white

Those last three are not valid on this thread.

It's weird how some people on here say that being short is a negative thing for a running back, when only two of the top 10 running backs in the NFL last year were over 6 foot.

I would want to be short actually. Big and strong legs, stay low to the ground, and you're tougher to tackle. The only benefit you get in being tall is that it helps you in the receiving game.

Engaged in college? Might as well throw in the towel during the third round.

Marriage isn't going anywhere. My 20's are.

Hide better behind those big O linemen too.

Well by definition you bigger, so you can be heavier. That'd be advantageous for some people.

Outlying outlier is outlying.

Adrian Peterson- 6'1", 217
Marshawn Lynch- 5'11", 215
LeSean McCoy- 5'11", 208
Arian Foster- 6'1", 227
Ray Rice- 5'8", 212
Jamaal Charles- 5'11", 200
Matt Forte- 6'2", 218
Doug Martin- 5'9", 215
Alfred Morris- 5'10", 218
CJ Spiller- 5'11", 200

Looks like being a tall running back is a little overrated
