Scarborough?
So since this made from page news on ESPN.com I decided to read through the comments which is always a bad idea. I came across this nugget.
Melica Patterson Hood
I am his mother their not kid on the way.

That's really his mom. I don't believe anything that comes out of these kids or their parents' mouths though. Who knows.
I would say how good you recruit is AT LEAST half the battle...
I heard Bo don't know grades.

Wasn't it mentioned that he may not even qualify to get into Bama?
I wouldn't hold my breath on it being Bo based on that.
Yep t town tommy posted this. I bumped it in the Bo thread.
I actually think Michel makes the most sense. Always had a great relationship with Alford, coach there loves ND, had great visits, and UGA has Chubb also committed who is a boss. Do I think he will flip from UGA? No. But I think he still stays in touch with Alford.
Michel wouldn't be the unnamed recruit though, as Loy mentioned him in the article
Stop being so classy and let me hate you, you piece of ****
More importantly, let Pat build you into his BK ruins everything theory

I don't think people are misinterpreting what his dad said. I think his dad was lying about why he was decommiting.
If he ends up half as good as Gio Bernard I will be irritated. Distance and girlfriend are two of the weakest reasons I can think of when making this type of decision. Good luck facing empty stadiums, except when ND comes to town of course.
Part of being in the mix with these five star flakes is dealing with this type of behavior. Better to have loved and lost than to never have love at all, especially when you have other super models lined up waiting for a piece of the action.
But i'm sure that Jaylon wanting to stay close to home was a good reason to come to Notre Dame, right?
Are you implying UNC football is on the same level as ND? Why not Clemson? It's probably closer to Charlotte than UNC and has a better football program. South Carolina isn't that far, Georgia either. Off top of my head a handful of schools with much better football programs and fan bases. Instead, go to a basketball first school. And if I was a girl, I would rather see my guy at ND than any of the above mentioned schools.
We recruit nationally and this is a persistent problem. The good news is, we recruit nationally so we have a very deep list of talent to mine.

I'm implying that when you say:
That I don't know what "behavior" you are talking about. Are you insinuating that "flaky five star kids" are idiots for staying close to home? If so, how do you feel about Jaylon doing just that?
If you just simply dislike UNC, then fine. But IF Hood ends up there because he is more comfortable for whatever reason, it doesn't mean he is dumb. It just means he likes it there. I never fault a kid for wanting to be close to home at a school they are comfortable with. If that's the case here, then I wish him luck. He has been pretty classy about the whole thing as far as i've seen. No reason for us to not follow suit.
