Not worried about YIII or Dickerson's 40 times. If they are running 40 yards each play then the game is out of hand anyway. How are they coming off the ball? As Rack Em stated, that's what really matters for these two guys. And I think both will be just fine.

That really makes me question the 4.94 40-time that's listed for Yeargin. If you watch his tape, there's no way Dickerson is faster than Yeargin.

Edit: That's not a knock on Dickerson. I REALLY like him and think it's fantastic he ran a 4.81 laser timed 40.

Maybe the timer was dyslexic and he ran a 4.49.

Novice at observing talent here but I am underwhelmed by the video highlights. I love that he is under the radar according to most of y'all and also expected to move up in the rankings next year. It is also nice to get one from the west coast. I trust BK at getting athletes for sure. Congrats Mr. Dickerson.

Here's the thing about him...he got his offers when schools came and saw him up close at his practices. He absolutely blew up once teams got to see him in person. USC saw him practice and came through with an offer a couple of weeks later after the entire staff evaluated him, and theirs is a tough offer to get with their sanctions still in place. Their fans thought he was all SC after that, and then when he didn't commit they thought it would be a USC-UCLA battle, which made it even sweeter when he committed to ND lol.

As an aside, here's some more awesome quotes from him when he was just going through the process these last few months:
"Like I have said, it's really a blessing," Dickerson said. "Some nights I can't even comprehend how God put me in this situation. I've questioned myself why me? Why am I given this opportunity to play college football.

"Why have I been given this opportunity to have a great family, have a great coach, great teachers - that all support me. It gives me a feeling that I don't deserve it, in a sense."

A lot of these schools want me to come to their camp. I can't go to every single one of them, so I need to talk to my coach about that.

"Plus last year, we came so close to inches of us going into the championship and we believe that during last summer, a lot of the players were not fully committed. They would miss a practice or coming late.

"A lot of the captains were not doing what they were supposed to and not being role models for the juniors and sophomores.

"This year we are really tightening it up and tallying what time we get there, so I can't really be missing too many days of practice."
After a staff meeting the Irish decided to extend a scholarship offer to the 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect.

"I got really emotional," Dickerson said. "My head coach was with me, right beside me. I was just real emotional. It's humbling they think I can play at that level with them."

"When I make my decision, I am going to be 100 percent sure that I am going to be going to that school," he said. "A coach told me, 'if you make a commitment it is like an engagement.' When you are engaged, you don't want to be seeing other girls."

And then when you read the ISD articles about him, even more impressive. Whether or not he makes it on the field like we hope, kid is just an outstanding person who will be a success in life, no doubt.

Did Bogs and LA just indirectly agree with each other? Dickerson is already a success for ND Nation as far as I'm concerned!

40 time - The most overhyped useless stat used for measuring a football player.

Not really, it isn't here or there. I was just concurring with Redbar's concurrence.

I rarely disagree with la. I just don't like the way he tries to bully some posters. Of course I don't concur with him that often either. Other than that it is just status quo . . .

Looks awfully raw in the film. Very agile for his size. One has to think he has a decent ceiling and will benefit well from Longo and coaching. I for one would not be uber surprised if he made an impact.

"I just knew it was the school when I walked on campus," Dickerson said on Saturday. "I felt it in my heart."

He said the coaches can see him at any defensive line position in the Irish’s 3-4 scheme. At 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds, Dickerson will close in on 300 pounds when he arrives to South Bend and will be suitable to play inside or out.

The commitment of Dickerson is also a feather in the cap of the Irish staff for more reasons than just pulling a California product. The Irish offered Dickerson in late May and got him on campus for the first time on Friday. Within hours Dickerson was ready to commit.

Updated Scout 300 is also out today: Scout.com: The 2014 Scout 300
"Dickerson also made a huge jump and is now a four-star and the No. 2 player in the west at his position. At 6-5, 275 pounds, he has a huge frame and looks like a college player right now. He's flexible enough to move around and play multiple positions on the line and shows a great upfield burst. He can finish a play and has high level closing speed and does a great job using his hands to get blockers off his body."

Wow, great to hear about Dickerson. His athleticism, more specifically his lateral movement was the one thing I questioned from his highlights so this is good news.

Now a .886 Rating in the 247 Composite, if Rivals bumps him up a little he'll be in 4:s: status even with his amazingly low ranking on 247

247 doesn't update you're ranking if your not in the Top247, at least they didn't in the last couple updates.

4:s: 89 Rating on the 247 Composite now. Was in the almost 600 overall before these couple updates and is now #299 overall even with a 84 Rating by 247

For no reason other than it's my gut feeling, but I think Dickerson will be the most productive DL player from this class while at ND. This does go out the window if by the grace of God Carter ends up signing.
