If Kelly wants him, he'll strike his Green Steel pose. No one can resist.

I would say pretty good, Iowa is our main competition.

Notre Dame gets it's fair share of regular students from the big Catholic schools in Cincy, St. X being one of those. Plus Kelly coached there for a few years.

Told II that him and some of the visitors and freshman all went out to Legends. I get the sense he favors ND over OSU & UM early.

Coach Elston, Defensive Line Coach and Recruiter for Indiana & Ohio.

STL, a chara,

Do you question Justin's height? I have stood next to Elston, (who in my opinion is one of the best of the Irish coaches, and very under rated) and though he is taller than me, he isn't so tall that kid standing next to him and is three inches shorter, is six-two. Just callin' it the way I see it. "What you got?"

Beir bua agus beannacht,

Elevenwarriors interview with Hilliard
Catching Up with Justin Hilliard | Eleven Warriors

Interesting nuggets from the article:

Lived in Michigan till age 7 when they moved to Ohio.

Claims to have never really rooted for any specific teams growing up.

Talks with Urban once a week.

Going back to UM for the BBQ on July 21st since his prior visit was really only centered on the camp and he didn't get to see the campus.

Academics and ability to win a championship will also be important factors in his decision.

He was just at UofM's BBQ right? Was there any update on how that went?

Love his tape, we really need to pick up some quality ILB's. Our depth at ILB is pretty scary right now.

Just based on that it looks like Ohio State and Iowa with ND and Michigan hanging in there.

As I posted in Cornell's thread...Scout article about ND and Michigan recruiting against each other but has comments from Cornell and Hillard - Drifting Apart

Hilliard, the No. 6 ranked outside linebacker in 2015, plans to release a top eight in the near future, a list that will include both Notre Dame and Michigan.

Hilliard pointed out the different recruiting pitches he’s hearing from Michigan and Notre Dame.

“They (recruiting pitches) differ slightly,” Hilliard said. “Michigan is coming with the approach that their 2015 class is going to be one of the best in the nation. Notre Dame is telling me how high in demand my position (middle linebacker) is.”

“There are differences in Coach Kelly and Coach Hoke, too,” Hilliard said. “Coach Kelly is more down-to-earth. Coach Hoke is also, but he is fierier.”

What about all this rivalry talk – is it one?

“I don’t really look at it as rivalry,” Hilliard, age 16, said. “I just haven’t seen it that way.”

When Hilliard does decide on a school, he named three primary criteria for his decision.

“How comfortable I am, how the academics are, and if the team can win a national championship…”

And both Notre Dame and Michigan are on track to be national championship contenders?

“Oh, definitely,” he said.

Huge game for recruiting momentum. Kelly's contract was a first milestone. This game is the 2nd... Go Irish!

I like to hear that. Perfect recruit to cure some of our ailing at ILB.
