Does it really matter? I don't think the staff even knows where he will play. He is basically signing up as a big skill player. It's the same situation as Niklas. It's a good problem to have.

Exactly. For all we know Luatua may switch while he is at ND, like Niklas did.

My expectation is that Luatua will succeed Niklas as the primary in-line TE, to be complemented by Weishar as the flex TE (i.e. the Eifert role). But who knows.

And like Sherm, I don't really care. With these high athletic ability kids, I just want to get them in the program. Is Juju a safety or WR? I like him better at safety, but I don't care. Is Quick a CB or a WR? I like him better at WR, but I don't care. Just get them.

I really like to hear that. I personally like him better on defense and have been worried his attraction to ND is because we are "TE U". If he's open to playing either side that's huge and probably speaks to his character.

Tunnel vision guys stated that ND had said they liked him on D as well and was intrigued by the idea because he hadn't been recruited on D by others---this was a while ago so don't quote me...but we like him as BIG SKILL
