His NLOI weighs 22 lbs by itself. Once he signs, it will tip the scales even more. Time to impress him Irish.

He told the Elevenwarriors reporter that he runs the 40 in almost 4.9 seconds every time out. I'm not sure what that means, but for a big boy he can move.

I hope we pull out all the stops. I really like Elam, but I am not getting my hopes up with him. I don't see us landing him though I would love it if we did. We really need DL in this class

Acoordin to his coach that is his current weight. Even the coach said that he needs to get down to 340-350 range for the season. It sounds identical to what our staff was saying about Nix a couple seasons ago.

Yes we have a very compelling story in how we turned a player whom almost ate himself out of playing into a first rounder.

A player who happens to play the exact same position. I just hope Elam has the same versatility and QB ability.

Seems to be carrying quite a bit of bad weight. Just means he'll be that much more explosive and impressive of a player when he drops down.

That's the most physically imposing picture I've seen since Jarron Jones had the patio pic with BK.

After a couple years in a college weight training program this kid will be a monster. Look at the size of his hands, they look like bear paws. Lets hope he hates Urban as much as we do.

Per rivals, loved his visit to OSU. They definitely helped their chances and will stay in his top five. Favorite part was talking with coaches. This one will be going the distance as he continues to say he'll be announcing at the AA game.

Is his visit to OSU over? If he's not visiting us til Monday, who's he visiting until then? Or is he going back home?

The odd thing is how fast Elam moves now. How imposing is he going to be when he is 30 lbs lighter and more stronger? That's really scary.

I think I'm off the Elam bandwagon until I see him perform against elite competition at the Army game. I just watched some of John Hardin's film and he isn't very impressive in plays that don't show up in his highlights. Lazy, plays WAY too high, etc. He flashes some elite athleticism for a guy that big, but it disappears for stretches. I'm certainly not expecting him to come in and take over for Nix in '14.

Also, I still have academic concerns with him. Apparently Elliott called him up one day and offered. He had never heard from ND prior to the call. That tells me they probably didn't do their homework on his academics. I hope I'm wrong.
