I thought the Urban Legend was going to shut the state of Ohio off to the rest of the country when it came to recruiting. He is losing several top recruits to other schools and I have to say I love it.

I love it as well.

Article on 11warriors really made it seem like they don't expect Ohio State to be able to get back in the race for Kizer even if they wanted to and have a number of other options to be "patient" with before they would even try to.

So at least there is that.

Also, Wiltfong said that prior to Deshone's visit even ND might be getting in on him too late. So something that Deshone or the family said led him to believe that. I don't think that changes with OSU.

I thought I read somewhere that Kizer wasn't a fan of Urban.

I haven't seen that but it wouldn't surprise me. The Kizers seem to be a very thoughtful family.

I talked to coach from a team that plays Kizer's during the season. He said Herman (Urban's O Coord.) came in during the evaluation period to talk with him or check in on the school. He quoted him saying that "he just didn't see it" with Kizer and from the sound of it they aren't/weren't going to pursue him. Take that for what it's worth, but from the looks of it they won't get into this one until very late in the game like you basically pointed out above.

Brandon Harris (LSU QB TARGET)met Kizer on the recruiting circuit and had nothing but good things to say about him after he made his commitment.

"An absolutely fantastic guy," Harris said. "One of the best human beings I have ever met. When he walks on Notre Dame's campus, he'll make them better, I truly believe it."

I said somewhere before, this young man reminds me of Malik with regard to his high character and leadership qualities. These two kids together are going to push each other to excellence. We are really lucky to have those intangibles at that position for years to come.

I'll give compliments to Harris too.

Sounds like Mr. Harris is that kind of young man also.

Still curious as to whether or not he will be an early enrollee.

I know he is a huge part of his schools basketball team and participated in a summer camp with them last weekend so he seems to be at this point planning on not enrolling early

That's too bad if true (not his importance to his BBall team, but rather the not EEing). He is arguably the most important recruit to have as an EE. The only other position(s) would be a high caliber DT/NG or an ILB IMO.

Bcuz of the possibility of our extreme lack of depth at the qb position after this year

It's pretty comical how much Rivals loves our class and ESPN really hates our class. 247/Scout seem pretty inbetween right now. Kizer didn't even make top 300 on ESPN.

I am more impressed with this kid than ever. I guess part of that is I am a bit jaded; used to hearing kids talked up for being high character and watching the wheels fall off, or at least having a flat or two changed, lol. But this kid seems to be the real deal.

Also, regarding the video on the b-ball court; didn't you think he moved extremely well? The other thing I notice is how much bigger he looked when he was playing. When he sits for an interview he must wear an oversized T-shirt and he just looks skinny, like in this interview and at his announcement.

He is skinny compared to elite football players, most of whom are not QBs. But it's much easier to put his size in context when he is on the b-ball court. What you see is that he is a long but solid 17 year old, with a lot of room for growth. He is going to perfectly good size when all is said and done.

Sounds like Kelly closed this deal. Nicely done Coach!

Really enjoyed that interview-sharp young man. Doesn't look as scrawny playing Bball but put some weight on him-say 20-30 lbs.-he'll be G2G.

A 6-5" 235 lb QB-Salivating over the thought!
