I feel Cam McDaniel will be the surprise. I hope he gets a lot of PT. I Like the new guys coming in, and want GAIII to be the game changer, but I expect Cam to be the player no one expects him to be.

TR starting does not bode well for C Breezy. Had EG started, I'd say CB on O, and Cole Luke on D. So I'll say Hercules and Bryant on O. I think we'll see heavy doses of both by the 3rd game.

Too drunk to read whole thread, so forgive me if already said: Ben Koyack will have a monster year. He has potential.

Andrew Hendrix will take control and there will be no looking back.Corey Robinson may not play alot but will be impresive when he does. I can see some clutch plays for this young man.

I stand by this one even more now that Tommy is the starter.

I wouldn't say star but i think Cam McDaniel will have his name called a few times this season. But if im saying one player who could have a true break out year i would have to say Amir Carlisle, kid is due for some good look

Robinson will be lofted more than a few from Tommy to move the sticks and score TDs. I think as a unit the RBs put up monster stats but split four ways. Bryant and someone else have top two spots locked up by season end though.

Defensively, I think Day capitalizes on more PT and the fact Nix and Tuitt are the #1 priority of all offensive units out of the gate. Day will spend A LOT of time behind the LOS.

While I hope it is the QB position, it would be a shock to me if no one from the RB position emerges as a surprise. We will need to run more than last year and no one looks the part so far (Cam is great but limited....Atkinson hasnt shown to run inside yet...and Amir is injury riddled so far) so I am going with Greg Bryant. On defense, I think Ishaq emerges he starts to fulfill his immense potential.

Offense: Tommy Rees and Malik Zaire - Why Both? Because it will need to be both for them to surprise defenses. Why not Greg Bryant? Because who would surprised if he dominates this year? That's near a forgone conclusion.

Defense: Shumate and Grace: Can't surprise anyone. As much as we love Grace at MLB, we'll still be pleasantly surprised by him ripping ball carriers a new one. Shumate is vastly overlooked. Expect him to start at SS, opposite Farley.

Michael Deeb is going to be the surprise star of the season... he won't make a huge impact defensively, but he'll be a stud on special teams and at some point he'll make a crazy-awesome effort-play due to his desire that will get everyone talking. After that, everyone's favorite play of the game will be a Deeb tackle on ST, hence "star of the season."

Golson
Vanderdoes

To early?

My real choices
N Martin as we are going to need a dominate performance by our o-line.
Sheldon Day as he will help us get significant pressure on the QB.

The Special Teams Unit

Couldn't get much worse... Hopefully we find someone who can avg. a little more than 2 yards per punt return.

Offensively: GAIII, CJ Pro, and with Rees starting he will be looking for his TE all the time so I expect decent numbers from them.

Defensively: I want to see Sheldon Day do well this season (Was he recruited as a DE or DT), Ishaq Williams: hopefully he lives up to his hype. Finally, Kevariae Russell did extremely well last season I want to see him continue to grow and become a lockdown corner for us the next 2-3 seasons.

I like Terry's point.

But I am going to go with the consensus of this thread, no one special, just everyone!

Seriously. I believe that is what Kelly sees. There are so many players that could have elevated seasons. If he gets 'em all on it, this could be a special year!

The thing is that we are going to have to get used to running plays where no one considers the QB even a minor threat to run... that puts pressure on the RBs. Who will step up?

Also, a WR needs to become go-to quality since Rees will chuck it under duress. Stated differently, Rees is going to give someone a chance to make a play... Floyd made those plays, Eifert made those plays, Riddick made those plays... Who is going to step up this year?

Wouldn't it be great if Tommy Rees came out balling all Kyle Orton or Kellen Moore style?

Yep, and I think it could happen. No reason he can't light it up like Kellen Moore. Good comparison

Grace is incredibly underrated. One of the nicest guys on campus, really smart, and a good leader. Look for him to dominate
