I'm always worried when he came into the game, but last year we were undefeated and a huge part because of Tommy. I wish him a fun and safe happy 21st birthday!

I love TR for everything he's done for us. He's not as dynamic as EG but we could be a LOT worse off right now without him.

Well after last season maybe theres the possibility he pulls something outta his *** this year and saves us again. At least we know we are solid at running back...

It's frightening to think about what Kelly's W/L record at ND might be if not for Rees. In the parallel universe where he never commits to ND, Kelly might have been fired already. I can't think of any player who's done more for his team and still been vilified to the extent Tommy has.

To be honest, it would be pure poetry if Tommy starts in 2013 and leads us to our first ever BCS victory.

It sure would be well deserved for TR.

Maybe I'm losing track of time, but damn, it seems like Tommy has been at ND for 10 years. NEXT MAN IN!

Thatd be amazing, and ive pulled a full circle on Rees from when i didnt like him. I fully trust this guy to keep us in games now; all my friends are bashing him on twitter and saying we need to turn to Malik. Tommy can handle this, and i hope he rises above and beyond.

I agree. I want to see the ND nation rally around Tommy!

I don't think anyone dislikes Rees, that'd be ridiculous. But it's obvious that him being the starter limits our offense and what BK can do. If Rees is not the starter it's probably a good thing for ND.

Any chance that Tommy "Ramen Noodle Arm" Reese has finally gone through puberty and is able to throw a ball further than 10 yards? Cause that would really help us next year.

That Ramen Noodle Arm has saved our a$$es enough times to not be called Tommy "Ramen Noodle Arm" Rees.

I just love how this kid has done nothing but help us win and people like you still bitch.

EG gets cut for cheating and you bash TR....I almost neg repped you.

I was as negative on Tommy two years ago as most everyone else, but I can now look back with a more open mind. When DC was in over his head, Tommy came in with a cool, confident head and lead this team to an 8-5 season. If he had last year's defense, that season would have likely been 9-3 or even 10-2. We should remember that Tommy was a sophomore. He is now a senior who has rebounded from his own off-field problems. Last season, he accepted his demotion and was there when the team needed him.

Every one of Tommy's on-field mistakes was due to over-aggressiveness. He wanted so badly to win that he sometimes tried to force throws. The team responded to Tommy's leadership last season, and they will do so again.

Would I like to have Golson back this season? Sure! Is the season over before it starts? Far from it. We have an experienced quarterback returning, one who bleeds blue and gold. Backing him up is a guy who nearly won the starting job a year ago. The quarterback position is one of the least of our worries.

thank god we still have Tommy, he will lead the summer workouts and make sure everybody puts in the work. He has the respect of the senior linemen and will always do his best for the team.

I'm glad we have tommy too.

This year isn't my concern... Think of the 2014 season...

Malik and mayyybe Andrew if he wishes to come back.

This isn't good.

Zaire will have his second season in so 14 is no where's near as bad as this season.

I don't think either season will be bad. Yeah, the chances of us having a bad season increased a lot in the past 12 hours, but if Tommy doesn't turn the ball over then I think we're still good for 9-10 wins.

Although, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if we went 8-5

We all know Tommy has the mental part of the game down. He knows the routes, the coverage's, and so on. However when it comes to the playing he is not athletic and has just an ok arm. And the game play calling will change some because Tommy is NOT an option QB.

The good thing is that this isn't the first time Rees has played. He has started almost 2 full years so Kelly already has plays for him

Rees certainly has the game experience and has been around the block. It's just that his role as a back-up was a great one in which he settled into quite well, and the whole offensive scheme totally changes now. Defense and special teams just got their wake up calls.

I think a lot of us are over-reacting. Sure we'd like to have Golson, but our offense wasn't exactly dominating people last year. We went 12-1 because of our defense, not because Golson was spectacular. He was solid and didn't turn the ball over a lot. If either Andrew or Tommy can do the same, we will be fine. They don't have to be spectacular, just solid under pressure.

i feel like we can almost put Tommy under center in 12 personnel and really hurt people.
