Will make his decision on Friday at 3:30, per a local paper

Not really info but South Carolina posters are extremely confident. I guess its my opinion.

I was gonna throw a random guess and say Tennessee, thinking Butch Jones had a relationship with him from his time at UC, but it looks like the signs are pointing to the ole' ball coach.

A few local writers in the NKY area believe it will be Kentucky, though I'm not sure if that's local bias or if they have inside info.

Farrell also seems to think UK, which makes me believe South Carolina is all the more likely.

JC Shurburtt & Gerry Hamilton were on Bill King's show this morning and said that they are mostly hearing South Carolina, but the fact that he's a Kentucky kid announcing in the school auditorium and invited the general public to attend definitely seems that it could be Kentucky. If he invites everyone one in and then announces South Carolina, it could be a bit awkward.

Kentucky may make a bit more sense; it may be easier for Barker to try and supplant Towles or Whithlow at UK (both going to be sophmores, played okay for freshmen on a bad team) than Shaw or Thompson at South Carolina. I guess you could say there's a chance that Stoops will want a fresh start at QB if his air raid isn't up to par in year one as well. Either way, he'll be battling QBs with 2+ years of eligibility left, though South Carolina offers a greater opportunity for success at the moment.

Edit: Towles/Whithlow would be juniors when he arrived, and one may solidly entrench themselves as the starter, but still QBs with an edge in experience to contend with.

Im a big UK fan so im really hoping we land this guy. One guy you people should be looking out for this fall is ZaDarius Smith, guy is a monster. look for him to be a first round pic either next year or the year after.

You make a valid point. But I would argue inviting elementary kids, most of who would have absolutely no clue about college sports, is a bit different than opening it up to the general public where diehard fans will most likely be in attendance. Those little kids were probably going to be more excited seeing the TV cameras in the gymnasium than caring about the announcement itself.

There was plenty of news outlets and recruitniks and others there. His no show was well publicized and quickly.

I also seem to remember Eddie Vanderdoes selecting in front of a large crowd with general public involved as well. He even did the hat thingy..... I can think of a host of others.......

Anyway, I could see him pulling the trigger to So. Carolina.

Can you argue with or truly disregard a coach who has his own vinyard?

For love of Pete, please stop calling South Carolina "USC." If you cannot write out South Carolina, then go with SCar. It isn't even that it is confusing, because you can usually tell the difference. It's just that SCar is not USC. USC is USC.
