wouldn't mind taking the kid from Arizona, especially if it helps land Andrews

He also tweeted a congratulations to Nic Weishar. I grew up right near Marist and it's full of Irish Catholics and Notre Dame fans. When I graduated from a nearby high school, 9 kids in my freshman class at ND were from Marist.

Benet is very similar and has an incredibly strong tradition of sending kids to Notre Dame- with a more consistent >10 kids/year to ND. I know the culture that this kid grew up in and I can tell you that it's very difficult for me to imagine that he'll pass on us. He'd be a local hero. This is what most kids in Chicago's Catholic schools dream of. Plus, Chuck Martin is on the case. Hard to say no to Chuck.

So THIS is why I see Benet gear literally EVERYWHERE on campus...
after watching the spring game, I hope he's OK sitting behind Zaire...

Anyone else think his throwing motion is weird? It's like he never has a full handle on the ball.

Yea, his release is low on some of those throws. He also chucks it around without a tight spiral on many of them. I think it's important that this is sophomore tape and that he probably hasn't worked with a quarterback coach the way a lot of these kids have. Those are all coachable points.

On the plus side, he appears to have great vision- probably helped by his size- and good arm strength for someone so thin. He has a lot of work to do but he's got 2 more years of high school left and plenty of motivation with the big offers he's been getting. I imagine that by the time he arrives he'll be less of a project.

My money is all in on him being the quarterback of that class. It's just a matter of time.

Wiltfong talked to a source saying Beneventi almost committed a while ago but was told by those close to him to play out the process through the summer and maybe the fall

He was invited as an alternate, meaning he'll take part in the positional drills but won't be part of the 7 on 7 unless there is an injury. Still a very cool accomplishment for a 2015 QB.

Loy's first article on the job, he spoke with Jack at some Tom Lemming event that Nic Weishar and Nyles Morgan were also at and ND is at the top and the staff has emphasized it's a committable offer and they really want him but he may just wait till after 2014 NSD. Camping at ND, Vandy, Louisville, Duke & UGA this summer

My high school

My high school

No insider info at all, but he goes to my high school. Very serious academic, conservative high school. Plenty of football options at public schools in area, so very reasonable to conclude his parents are serious about academics and values.

I'm not at all surprised to see ND, Vandy and Duke on his list. Very surprised to not see Stanford, but it's early.

Three of top 5 kids from my class went to ND, all doctors now. Was pretty Catholic back in my day and ND was *the* dream school for many kids...so hopefully we land him.

After 2014 NSD for a 2015 kid isn't that big of a shocker. Thats 1 year before he has to.

Lower than Wiltfong expected, must be a lot of good QBs for him to be that high overall but #11 out of QBs

Jake Brown said that he's struggling today, especially on deep routes. Hopefully, he can get it together and finish strong.
