Crap. It's snowing! It's fugging MAY 1st, fer chrissakes! I know, I know: it's helping relieve the drought, but I'd prefer a heavy morning fog or or 48 hour mist – both require warmth.

Oh, and to remain "on topic" I miss a number of the usual suspects already mentioned. Early onset Alzheimer's (just kidding – I hope) is already affecting my memory so I'd have to do some research. I'm also a bit of a life-long, lazy-*** procrastinator.

Bambi the ball-less one is a given. I'd not be SirDishHands, nor a member of this forum (for better or for worse) without him. I lurked too long to establish any rapport with Goshen Gipper. I regret this. I've been missing Wooly and Nanker of late. I have a soft spot in my cyber heart for playful playmates with humor, passion and kindness in their hearts.

K1ssMe, I miss you more than you'll ever know. As BGIF pointed out, I'm little more than a toddler in terms of IE longevity. In a nutshell, I miss posters from the past with knowledge of ND and football who also display a sense of humor.

I miss myself when I'm not here ... For humor, boring stories and a bit of grammar advice, not X's and O's or 3-4's vs 4-3's.

I miss Killz and Terry Tate, TT was the first guy I reached out to about Tee Sheppard. He is good people, I just miss Killz making fun of me. ALLGator honestly me and him have some intelligent recruiting convos I still think what he did in the Deeb thread was all good fun. I guess he turned into a troll though. Also miss Jayrock or was it jayrockkk, no it was jayrockkkkkkkkkkkk

Okay it is a thankless job but I will take it, you Kate Upton wiffle-sniffin' dog, you! GB sorry you and the deer didn't get a chance to get off on a better footing; after all you have six between you. But the deer, with the pain that he was constantly in, was all about being lighthearted and not taking things seriously, where you when you came on board as an honorable young man, was all about the serious business of football.

One thing about IE that has improved over the last two years is you recruitnick, scoop-o-matics are all much less competitive with each other and of much better humor, over all.

Dshans brought up a special poster from the past, one whom I will always also care a great deal for; KissMe. KissMe was a valued poster, a firey lass. In tribute to her:

GoshenGipper and SocalDomer were legit posters.

It's crazy cause Goshen passed away before I ever got to know him on this site, and now I work in Goshen at one of the schools he attended. Apparently he was an unbelievable human being.

Socal was one of the reasons I joined this site. His posts were insanely good. He stopped posting cause it was too time consuming. He came back for a minute, pissed everyone off LOL (he was a different guy IMO when he came back), and then vanished again. One of the best if not the best debaters this site has seen in my time here (reading since 2006, joined in 2008).

And WabashFalcon and GOIRISH!, where have you gone? Wabash says he is super busy, and I know from talking to GOIRISH! that he too is super busy with work.

I am still around from time to time. Work has been insane lately and with the weird compressed hockey schedule, I spend a lot of time on the freeways between Orange County and Staples Center. When I have any free time, we have been heading up to hide out in Big Bear.

I am still here. You know me, once we get close to Fall, I come back around. Like a bad rash, I always seem to come back!

I'm urged to say something that many people missed about Neutered when he was active. If you disregard gamedays [tough for some to do, I know] and a rather few things that consistently fired him up, Neutered was one of the most important CALMING influences in this place.

For those of you who didn't recognize this, OK, I understand, but when the thread discussions would begin to go flat lunatic and nasty around here, Neutered would almost predictably show up with some off-center nonsense and before you knew it, he had redirected the fire and put it out.

I sat back and watched him exercise a masterful ability to bring IE to its senses time and again. And often I'd chime in with him {dshans did this, too} to pour water on the fires or dull the edges of the knives. I saw Neutered as a kind and cultured caring person {when he wasn't drinking or otherwise having a stressed day}. Those people who caught the brunt of his bad days probably will never see him this way, as, with many masters, his constant positives were overshadowed by his rare negatives.

I miss his presence here greatly, and hope that those who still try to do his work {albeit less artfully} will continue to pour water on the fire and speak peace in the midst of war. We need dshans, Bogs {in his new happier personality}, JohnnyK, The Hog, Greyhammer to keep interjecting their humor and oft-nonsense into the middle of our frequent out-of-control childishness. They have the social intelligence as to when to do it, and what NOT to say.

To add a bit to what OMM posited, I miss Neutered not only because I enjoyed playing reindeer games with him (have at it, folks, since you'll never get a fatter set-up line) but because he had both a knowledge and understanding of football that I don't. Sometimes his passion did spillith over, but when he twitched that cute white tail of his he was hard to resist.

Speaking of nothing in particular, OMM, I hope some of those West Virginny mountain men come to set a spell with you so you can pass along more of their hard earned wisdom.

When exactly did this site come into existence and what is considered old? I believe some people here have left and returned, yet still retained their post count-but their join date is different. Am I correct?

I believe the oldest join date I have seen is 2005. BGIF.

He started a forum about the Cincinnati Bearcats a few years ago. This was just before Kelly became HC at ND. I'm not really sure if the place is still open. I helped him for a little while, but quit after a few months. I had him as a friend on Facebook, but I closed my account.
