Once again I do apogolize for being a douche but who doesn't want to come run behind the 5 O linemen we signed last year. Than Bars,Nelson, Mustipher, Bryne just awesome.

Now if we could land a WR.

Amen to that

Who needs an elite passing attack with the OL and backfield we're building?

So would you guys say this kills ND chance with starks?

No not at all, at least in my opinion. Starks is an ATH who can play running back, slot, or safety.

In addition, it seems like Starks was heating up on us at the same time Hood was. I'm sure Starks has known that it was a possibility that Hood would be in this class.

If you want to play big time college football then you are going to go somewhere with a lot of talent at the RB position. Everyone seems to be taking 2 very talented backs every year and almost every team shares the ball plenty.

I don't think this changes anything

I agree to a certain extent but my gut feeling is he wants his reps to come from the runningback position. Deep down I don't think it will sway him one way or the other because I really want Starks in a ND uniform as well......:headbang:

haha I was being sarcastic. I am pretty damn confident by saying Elijah just wanted to get his parents blessing. That's why he was set on ND than slowed things down. It's been a roller coaster ride for him but I am pretty sure he was set on ND the whole time. I never thought he was committed but I can STRONGLY say I won't name name's but there was a reason a couple backs were coming to ND this spring than all of a sudden canceled. there are reasons only Starks and Michel visited for RB's this spring. It came off as "hey look what I know and you don't" I apologize and didn't mean to come off arrogant even though I did.
Welcome to ND Elijah.

Who was going to come and didn't?

“My parents saw why I wanted to commit to Notre Dame in the first place,” Hood said. “They realized why I fell in love with this place when I first visited here before. They got a chance to spend some time with the coaching staff, and they were so impressed by everything. They knew how bad I wanted to be here, so they were good with everything in the end.”

basically the way I look at I committed to ND mom and dad.
OOOOO know you didn't son
Slow things down
UNC pressure to stay close to home
Come back to ND and make sure parents are on board.

Regardless it's freaking huge and the guy runs like Spencer Ware

Sort of agree and disagree. Hood definitely has the look of your classic power back, while Jonas Gray was really a speed back that just happened to be 225 lbs. Doesn't look like Hood has the breakaway speed of Gray, but then Gray was supposedly the fastest member on the roster.

Looking back at Starks' tape, I can definitely see the Wood comparison....the principle difference being that Starks seems to break tackles and run with the authority that I never saw from Cierre.

Take 'em both!

Hood and Gray's 100 meter track times in high school are basically the same. Speed wise they are very comparable. I agree with arrowryan assesment of Hood being a Delux Gray.
He instantly is my favorite rb and can't wait for him to step on campus. He's a true beast on the field. My favorite recruit in this class.

Welcome Elijah!

Also said he will only take visits to ND and is ready to recruit whoever the staff tells him to. He loves Nd and he wants others to see why.

This along with the quote above posted by GB is from 24/7.

Could it be? ND is going to have a dominate running game again?

Had the same feeling about this kid as I did Doug Randolph last year. Couldn't see him ending up anywhere else but Notre Dame.

Wow, didn't see this coming. For those that have said it already big props to Alford and Jones. Clearly the players on the roster are to thank as well, this team is starting have that infectious attitude that is making other kids want to be a part of it. Excellence is contagious. He has a great combination of power and speed. For those that may question his speed watch the highlight at the 2:40 mark (roughly) he gets to the sideline and out runs two defenders that could have at least shoved him out of bounds but he blew by them. Welcome to ND Elijah!

I can assure you sir you most definitely have the wrong avatar. I would go with Buzz Killington if I were you.

I think Buster should stick with Buster for two reasons...

1) He actually is Buster Bluth.

2) If I ever meet him in person and the first words out of his mouth aren't "Hey Brother" I will be sorely disappointed.

Kick ***. Welcome to the family Elijah! You won't regret it for a second.

Others said it and I agree ... Eddie Lacy in a couple years. This is the kind of player we need to get for our offense to reach the next level.
