:(:(

That's it. Turning down my dream school (ND) was difficult but with the way the legal market is, it had to be done.

Oh well...I'll be wearing my green loud and proud September 7. And would love to tailgate and meet up with some members on this board.

This will happen. I always throw a big tailgate for this game when it's in AA. All are welcome.

There will be many obnoxious, and dumb, Michigan girls at this tailgate (my g/f is die-hard). There are positives and negatives to this. But again, all are welcome.

And if you need housing help when you get to AA PM me. I'm in law school as well.

And before you were around to co-sign her loans, I hope!

Question for those of you that have graduated.

In college, did you do any internships that were related to your major/minor? I'm trying to set up an internship so I can get as much experience related to my major and minor as I can possibly get. I'm majoring in Business and minoring in Sports Management fyi

Highly recommended. Any chance you get to "live the life" of what you will be doing for the next 40 years, you should. You may find things out about yourself and the job you want.

I know quite a few people when I was in school who changed majors after interning or at least changed their thought on how to approach their career post grad. On the company side, 2 of my last 5 interns hated the work and changed majors while three loved it and got job offers. Win - Win if you ask me.

University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Logistics.

Graduating in a few weeks. No job. Please somebody help me.

This made me laugh. Been a good deal of bs in the logistics at the construction sites I've been managing lately.

Anyhow, congrats to you.

Yes. Absolutely. Do it.
There is no reason not to. You might work your way into a job after graduation (I did). You might decide you hate the business and go do something else before it's too late. There's really no downside (assuming you're not interning for free, which is just a type of indentured servitude that you may or may not be able to afford).

Its really up to you. I'm a Supply Chain Management major with a minor in marketing, but my freshman year i had a internship with CBSsports and this year i have a internship with ESPN. Working in sports has always been my dream, but due to how difficult it is to get a job in sports i decided to go in a different direction in my studies. After my first semester at MSU, i received a call from my dad telling me he has a friend at cbs who he is very good friends with and he asked me if I would like to have his number to see if I had a chance at a internship. Long story short, the sports field is really difficult to get into without knowing anyone. I suggest go to your athletic department and ask around for available positions. If you need any advice you can pm me anytime.

ps:sorry about the grammar im typing on my phone from my micro-biology class and wasn't really in the mood to re-read and proof.

I honestly tried to avoid them like the plague. To each their own.

Heading to law school in the fall. Too ashamed to say where on this board.

Anyone here look at Pepperdine?

I was accepted to Pepperdine (seriously, this isn't a 'I went to Havard' post.. lol)

La Verne was closer to home and more affordable.

Simpson College '10 in accounting. Went to school at night, because it's easier. And 2010 was far from my HS graduation.

I am a civilian but I took a lot of classes with Officer Candidates from all branches of service. I take classes at night after work, and so do some of the O.C.s. I just got inducted into Tau Beta Pi with a bunch of them. Its really a good program and there are a lot of great dudes in the Program. Most serve their time and the branch pays for them to get a degree so they come to the Citadel. There is so much military in the area, its kind of a no brainer. We have a joint Air force base for C-17s, a naval weapons station (the sub fleet used to be stationed here), Boeing, a former Navy base, and that is just in the Charleston area. An hour south we have Parris Island Marine Recruit Depot and a Marine Corp Air base.

The Citadel's engineering program is top notch. Every year we compete with regional schools to include Duke, Georgia Tech, Clemson, South Carolina, NC State etc.. in engineering competitions. This year we won it, last year we finished third. We do things like building concrete canoes and steel bridges and see which one performs best, as well as other engineering related competitions for transportation and geotechnical arenas.

Go for it if you want to be some one's bitch. Figure out something you can do and go and do it yourself. Looks better that you did it yourself than some shitwork under a grad student or TA or in some office. Especially business. You'll be in the mail room.
